This review has been long overdue. Every time when I heard his radio advertisement remind me that I must write this review. I finally create an account to do just that.

Dr Ellis likes to advertise on KCBS with some discount to lure customers. I've fell for that so I decided to give it a try. His staff exam my eyes saying I was qualified for Lasik because I had thick cornea. I wonder if they ever disqualify anyone. My eyes prescription were around 500/20 on both eyes without any astigmatism. I wanted to do mono vision with my left eye to see distance and my right eye for reading. I also pay extra upfront cost for life time package (that's what they explained to me) so that it would cover future surgeries if necessary.

On the day schedule for surgery, they gave me a pamphlet, probably 30 pages long, that I have to read and sign first. This pamphlet gave me awareness of what to expect and care for the eyes. It also made me signed away all my legal rights. They did not gave it to me ahead or make me aware additional time to prepare for this. This pamphlet could take 2 hours at least to read and understand.

After the Lasik surgery on the first day I felt very painful with a lot of tears. They prescribed me pain and sleeping medicines so I can sleep as soon as I get home to coup with the pain and keep my eyes closed. They also gave me an eyes shield from touching my eyes. The pain and discomfort slowly got better on the second and third day. I ended up both eyes have astigmatism that I did not had before and both eyes were far from target to be mono vision. I could not see distance and could not see close up. Everything was blurry. My glasses and contact lens no longer fit since my prescriptions had changed. I was also very sensitive to light. I was so afraid I would loss my eyesight.

I went back for follow up and complains. They said that I had to wait six months for my eyes to heal up before they can perform another Lasik for correction. They said that lucky I purchased the life time package so I will not be charged for the surgery fee but I still need to paid for the Lasik machine fee total 500 dollars. I desperately wanted to fix my eyesight so I did not argue with the additional fee.

I complained many times as I cannot see things clear. Finally Dr Ellis told his staff to write me a prescription for glasses. I was hesitated to spend the money for a pair of new glasses just for a few months. The staff told me go to LensCrafters to buy a pair of new glasses as they offered money back guaranty. After the surgery return the glasses for full refund. I did not feel this was a right thing to do as this was Dr Ellis' fault not LensCrafters. I was able to find some cheap over-the-counter reading glasses that was close enough for temporary use until the next surgery.

The second surgery went well. The pain, tear and discomfort after the surgery were moderate. That might indicated it was done correctly. I could see much better on the second day. The pain and discomfort were so much lesser than the first surgery that indicated something went terribly wrong on the first surgery that they had denied. In one of the follow up the staff told me that my eyes would not qualify for anymore surgery because my cornea got much thinner. So I guess they wanted to tell me that the life time package was no longer good. They told me if I wanted further exam to my eyes I need to pay. With my horrible experience with this place I would avoid this place totally. Do not gamble with your eyes.

Dr. Ellis and 2 of his optometrists were not very friendly to customers. They showed impatience and annoyance when you ask questions. They didn't care how you feel or how much you suffer. They deny wrong doing without any apology.

BTW, there were a male staff I think his name was Joe. I think he was an assistance but he pretended to be an optometrist. On three of my follow up appointments, he leaded me to the exam room. Ask me to sit on the chair than he start adjusting and put the phoropter in front of my face. Then he exam my eyes with the phoropter for just a couple of minutes then exited the room. But the problem was every times he did that he hit my face with that phoropter.

So remember do not listen to their advertisement in the radio. Do not risk your eyes trying to save money. If you still want to do that ask a lot of questions. Compare price, service and coverage from difference places. Ask for that pamphlet to read it ahead of time and make yourself fully understand before you pay. Best of all just avoid this place. I give a 1 star only because there is nothing lower.

Amazing experience! Prior to lasik i could barely see fingers raised right against my face. Month and a half later im at 20/25. Thats amazing! The staff was absolutely lovely. So caring and made me feel as if they were my family. Especially marleny! She was such an angel. You can tell when a person is so passionate about her job. She is. She was so excited when i was approved for lasik. And she remembers patients! This office gets many people coming in and out and she makes me feel so important.Thats one of a kind. She made my overall experience very comfortable and her excitement is contagious. Wonderful staff overall every single one of them.

Dr. Ellis and his staff are amazing. I was waiting for so long to turn 18 to do my EPI-LASIK eye surgery and it has been the best decision I've ever made. I haven't been able to see 20/20 since I was 6 years old and after 2 months of my surgery I now can see 20/20. Marleny is the sweetest lady I've ever met, she's so caring to all patients. She made sure I was keeping up with vitamins and my drops. Some reviews say that she is a little "crazy" but it's just her amazing bubbly personality and the passion she has for her job to see patients go from terrible vision to amazing vision. After telling her about my 20/20 I received the biggest hug ever, it makes you feel so connected to the staff and loved. If i could give this 100 stars I would. I recommend this place to everyone looking for a good doctor and a caring staff. Thank you so much to Dr. Ellis and his AMAZING staff especially Marleny.
