I noticed that most of the one star reviews are left by people more concerned with the price tag of the surgery than the actual surgery. Not trying to throw shade. Everyone has their reasons.

Surgery is risky. This surgery is no exception. I was well aware of every horrible possibility. My reasoning was, I would rather pay a little extra and have someone as accomplished as Dr. Ellis is, who is a pioneer in this field with excellent credentials operating on me rather than get a heavy discount somewhere else and go blind in a few years.

I don't regret my decision as the successful surgery was followed by 9 months of free eye exams from which I no longer need as I now have 20/20 vision.

I actually went in for a Lasik consultation and was approved but Dr. Ellis double checked my file and decided the day of the surgery that PRK would be even less risk for me. Before the surgery, they make you watch an informational video on all the risks and you get to speak with the consultant one last time before the surgery and he was very upfront about everything. He told me that Dr. Ellis would prefer I do the PRK and went over the differences with me (I was already aware) and that he WON'T be charging me the difference. He just wanted me to have a higher chance of success.
I appreciated that level of honesty and it's reassuring to know that he just wants a successful surgery for you, and not just to save time or take your money.

The staff was friendly and professional.
The doctors were excellent.
The consultation was upfront and honest. No surprise prices.
The PRK surgery was a success.

I can't find anything negative to say except for;
Thank you for making my eyesight perfect!

    Had epi lasik surgery for highly nearsighted correction (7 plus correction) several years ago and surgery went well.I did feel that the initial consultation was deceptive regarding recovery time and the staff member (salesperson) vastly understated the recovery time when I asked about how long it would take to return to work in an office environment and computer use. . He stated that med next week about 5 days away for some people and as I remember it it was about 2 weeks or more to see well enough for work and perhaps 6 to 8 additional weeks for vision to stabilize as it changed over time as eyes healed. During the followup visits the staff Dr. confirmed my experience was normal and what I had been told was not normal (aka deceptive).Also he stated that he "lowered cost for the procedure was limited time only promotion and that part of the consult had some feel of being sold something.

    I came in for a general eye exam which was supposed to be with Dr Ellis. When I arrived they told me it was with an OD. Then I was asked to sign paper work saying I would give up my right to seek legal council for medical malpractice should something go wrong. I have never had any doctor require this ever. I am pretty shocked and wonder if this is even legal or if these papers would even hold up in court. This seems very sketchy so I left. What a total waste of a weekday morning.
