Had epi lasik surgery for highly nearsighted correction (7 plus correction) several years ago and surgery went well.I did feel that the initial consultation was deceptive regarding recovery time and the staff member (salesperson) vastly understated the recovery time when I asked about how long it would take to return to work in an office environment and computer use. . He stated that med next week about 5 days away for some people and as I remember it it was about 2 weeks or more to see well enough for work and perhaps 6 to 8 additional weeks for vision to stabilize as it changed over time as eyes healed. During the followup visits the staff Dr. confirmed my experience was normal and what I had been told was not normal (aka deceptive). Also he stated that he "lowered cost for the procedure was limited time only promotion and that part of the consult had some feel of being sold something.

I went there today 1/10/18 with my father. First of all there wasn't any Dr. Ellis there. Ive been told that he is only working on Fridays and only for surgeries. Another doctor did the exam. They took $250 from my father because of his age and the lady doctor repeated multiple times that he is going to get a complete eye exam and i am getting only lazier evaluation exam. During my exam I noticed that they didn't know how the tools work and their excuse was that their technician is not there, and i wonder why they make appointments if they knew the tech is not gonna be there and if their doctor can not work with tools without the help of tech? Then I learned that they knew from the beginning that my father wont be qualified for lazer because of his age and I wonder why they didn't say anything, Did they want the $250? so cheap people. Then the doctor told me that she is going to write me a prescription but she forgot to do that. She also told me that she can not give me the report but she will write me the diagnoses of my eye, but she didn't do that either. And the exam of my father suppose to be much much longer than mine based on their own words but she spend only one third of the time that she spend on me, and my father get the minimum exam while he paid $250. In general the clinic was very unorganized, very untrue about their service, and very unpleasant. i do not recommend it to anyone.

I went to Ellis Eye and had a stellar exam by his team. They were professional, and addressed a couple of eye issues I wasn't aware of.
Afterward, I had a consultation with the surgery scheduler, and felt that I was being 'soft selled' on getting my surgery on a rushed schedule. He kept stressing that their reduced fee offer expired at the end of the month.
This was off putting, so I have decided to go elsewhere.

This is based on my surgery that I had over 7 years ago. I am still satisfied with the results, and overall had a good experience. Obviously the experience can vary depending on how your vision changes. As most Lasik surgeons will tell you, you'll want to setup your surgery when your vision has stabilized and have had the same prescription for a while. Lasik will improve your vision to 20/20 or better but it's not going to stop your eyes from worsening over time due to age, genetics and other factors. Just plan things out more thoroughly so you don't waste your money.

You do a brief consultation where they'll do an eye examination to see what you're vision is like, eye health, shape, etc. and they'll recommend a procedure that fits for you. Afterwards you'll talk to a finance person who will give you a break down of everything and their payment options. Then they'll schedule the actual surgery date, as others have already indicated the office during surgery days will feel very assembly line like. It goes by pretty quick and they're good about making sure you have everything you need.

Dr. Ellis is not exactly the most patient and easygoing person. During my surgery he was barking orders at me and raising his voice, it created a very awkward and discomforting situation. Thankfully the procedure is pretty fast.

Getting a response back for your inquiries is kind of a hassle. I tried to get receipts for my procedure so I can use the vision care plan offered by my work (my work pays for 100% of it and it's free) and avoid paying for an eye exam. However it's been months and I still haven't gotten a response back from them.
