I've been a customer of the Mann Eye Institute for many years. First in Humble then their old Katy location. I have seen several doctors and have been happy with every single one. Last week I had to take my 6 year old in for his first full eye exam as he failed the one at school. He's ADHD so I was not looking forward to this. The new location is beautiful! What a change from the run-down building they had an office in before! It appears they build their own building at Westgreen and Kingsland across Westgreen from Taylor High School. There is plenty of parking right in front of the building and a beautiful rock fountain. The lobby is so nice and the revolving door was rated thumbs up by my 6yo. The optical assistant took us back and was very good with my son. She took the time to notice he was "cheating" on his eye exam and peeking when covering his eyes. After having his eyes dilated, we waited in a nice waiting room before being taken to another exam room. The doctor, Dr. Chin, who I have seen before with my kids was excellent. She was very patient with my son and made sure to double check everything so he receive a very accurate prescription. I had another doctor's appointment later in the afternoon and didn't have time to wait for the optician to pick out glasses since there were a couple people in front of us. When I told the receptionist I was disappointed I couldn't use them (I don't live in Katy but Cypress) the optician overheard me. She told me when I could come back and when she could accommodate us better. When I explained we didn't live in Katy, she said she would recommend someone so we could get taken care of. My experience with the opticians at Mann have always been excellent and I didn't want to get ripped off at another place. I trusted her and went to the other business. What can I say? She sent me to someone she had worked with and I was so pleased. They were pleased that the lady at Mann referred us to them and they took care of my son. I got an excellent deal on glasses for him. What business today is willing to take care of the customer by sending them elsewhere. First off, the doctor's are top-notch, all of them. I've been buying my contacts through Mann for about 15 years and now take my 3 kids and husband to them. They've dealt with testing a child for color blindness to a tear in the cornea for my husband. They have earned my trust and I have no problem recommending them or any of their locations. The quality that Dr. Mann requires has been proven to me over and over again.

Dr. Mann Sr. is of the best lasik physicians in the country. He is the best lasik Dr. in Texas. I had some very poor eyes done. I was -7.50ish in both eyes plus a stigmatism. Had surgery in March 07. The results are still 20/20 in both. Mann is as good as his reputation. Thanks for a job well done!

I had my Lasik eye surgery here on 6/17/10. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The price is reasonable compared to other local Lasik places. Mann Eye offers interest free financing as well. I had 20/20 vision within 24 hours. :) Thank you!

Having worn glasses and contacts most of my life I finally made the choice to go for Lasik surgery. Who to trust my eyes with was a difficult one. You see Lasik for cheap. You have do some research and talk to others that have gone through it. Considerations are what type of equipment is being used and the qualifications of the doctors. I went with Mann Eye Institute and I am a very happy I did! When I scheduled my complimentary consultation on the phone Victor was more than informed on the procedures and answered all my questions. When I arrived for the first time I was met by David and he greeted me by name even though I had never been there. Kevin the counselor sat down with me and explained the screening process, what to expect during the surgery and financial options. What I really appreciated is the fact they are honest if you are not a candidate for the surgery and what your other options may be. In addition, no long wait time in the lobby. You are seen at your appointment time with great efficiency. My surgery was a little more complicated then most and both eyes could not be done in the same day as planned. I was disappointed but was rescheduled to come back the following week to finish up. They promised it would be done and they delivered! Apparently I have a small left eye that posed a challenge. Dr Mike Mann did not give up and his support staff was wonderful. At one point someone came in to hold my hand and boy did I squeeze (not from pain but anxiety)! After several attempts Dr Mann was able to create the flap and then on to the laser. My right eye was easier and it took less than 5 minutes. I can't even describe the elation of seeing out of both eyes now with no assistance. Dr Cessac is also a pleasure to have as the pre and follow up doctor. She's a little bundle of energy and so positive! Thank you to the Mann doctors and their wonderful staff! I would recommend them to anyone considering Lasik.

I've got to give it to my Mom...this was one hell of a graduation gift. After having a really awful high school graduation experience with a family emergency, I never got to experience the freedom or joys of being out of school. Once everything calmed down, my mother decided to treat me to an eye surgery that i desperately needed. I had awful vision to say the least. I worn glasses and contacts all my life but got sick of changing them everyday and it never fixed the problem. Even with corrective lenses, I still got severe headaches and maintained difficulty seeing from afar. So one day in Febraury of 2006, me and the madre decided to head on up for a free exam at the Mann Eye Center just to see what could be done. After being told for the past 3 years that my eyes weren't strong enough for Lasik, I didn't really get my hopes up. After about an hour, Dr. Mike Mann came in and told me that they could perform a procedure on my eyes and give me close to perfect vision. I was amazed yet of course very skeptical, however my mom knew how much it meant to me so she went ahead and wrote out the check. The procedure was amazing! Using clamps, the opened my eyes and did the procedure. I saw the whole thing--strangely amazing. Now I know what its like to be on paralytics during surgery. Sweet! Of course they gave me valium to relax me. It was completely painless! In 24 hours, I had perfect vision. Even better than they originally planned for me. I had to use Rx Eye Drops for the next 30 days to let my retina and iris heal completely, but the whole thing was amazing. I highly recommend getting the treatment if you have bad vision. $4000.00 is a small investment for something so important like your eyes. I couldn't be more thankful to my mom after that.
