This was hands down one of the best experiences I've had at an eye doctor's office. I heard the LASIK commercial on local radio and was excited to find that Mann Eye also accepted my vision insurance. I was able to get an appointment within the week, and offered one next day but it unfortunately didn't fit into my schedule.

Stephanie is the receptionist, and she was super friendly. The appointment ran on time, and the surgery consultant was very helpful in answering any questions I had about the Lasik procedure. Several scans and tests were done on my eyes, and my prescription was determined. The technician who helped me was a very pleasant man, who was very patient with me as I tried to read the letters.

Here's the thing, ultimately the doctor, Dr. Barker, decided that I was not a candidate for LASIK. He was very knowledgable, extremely polite, and I didn't feel rushed or like he was in a hurry. He took the time to talk to me about how my vision wasn't really bad enough to get LASIK, and the risks of getting the procedure with such a low prescription. I was very impressed. LASIK is not cheap, and Mann Eye is one of the biggest names in the area. It would have been very easy for them to use that clout to take my trust and my money and risk my vision.

The awesome staff wrote me a prescription for new glasses, and took extra time to fit me for new contacts, helping me try a couple of pairs before finding one I liked. I got a trial pair to wear for a few days and they told me I could call when I was ready to order, or they'd write me a prescription to purchase them somewhere else. I thought the only con was that they didn't have a very large selection of frames, so I opted to go somewhere else to pick out my new glasses.

The facility on Braker Lane is gorgeous, clean and very modern. The staff is awesome. The doctors I encountered were very knowledgable. I'll return to Mann Eye for my annual exams. Check them out for all of your eye care needs.

I am beyond impressed and happy with my recent Lasik surgery. 25 years of wearing glasses and I had 20/20 vision at my 1 day post op. I can't explain how amazing that is. I experienced no pain whatsoever. My dry eye is getting better by the day and I am so happy to finally be able to do small things like wear eye makeup and be able to see while applying it, watch tv in bed, exercise without pushing up my glasses, and see so much better while driving. I admit I was a little nervous because some of the reviews I had read suggested they get you in and out. After actually being there and experiencing the whole miracle of sight from consultation to surgery/recovery, I had a different opinion. The efficiency of Mann Eye Institute is amazing. I wish all doctor's offices worked that smoothly. My seat in the waiting room most likely didn't warm up due to their timing and efficiency and I'm so glad because it gave me no time to start getting nervous about the actual surgery. The front desk and assistants were all so warm and definitely put me at ease. I got to meet Dr. Paul Mann before my surgery, he welcomed me back in the office when I came in, and he even brought me my pre op meds.

I definitely recommend if you want to have the surgery very soon to stop wearing contacts and wear glasses to let your eyes heal and prepare them for surgery. I never could wear contacts due to my horrible astigmatism so I lucked out and had my surgery right away.

Kristen V. and Crystal L. gave great reviews with more details and I encourage you to read their reviews because they definitely put me at ease. I also have multiple friends who had great experiences with Mann Eye and even have friends that work at their other location.

I would do this a million times over!!!! Mann Eye is the way to go!

Got my LASIK in January and it was the best decision I ever made. From the consultation to the day of the actual Surgery, the staff was awesome and friendly. I had the worst vision, it was a -5.75/-6.25. My vision is better then 20/20 at this point. They are great, I went to the One in Houston, Texas Midtown (by Main Street). I had been wearing glasses since I was 7, I am 34 years old now. Best decision ever!

Friends used to wave 'hello' at me from across the room and I had no idea who they were. Friends and family feared getting in a car with me if I was ever the driver; they used to make fun of me for always having missing car hubcaps (from hitting street curbs). Chances are, if there was a hubcap on any street in Houston, it was probably mine. That's because I was blind as a bat - and unfortunately, I hated wearing contacts and could never find my glasses. 'Squints' was my nickname since high school and consequently, I have scary wrinkles.*

Fortunately, I met Dr. Paul Mann at a large gathering, and he eased me into the idea of getting LASIK, which I never knew was an option for people with astigmatism. After reading their reviews on Yelp - many from credible or Elite Yelpers - I knew I was in good hands. Also, they have locations all over Texas, but Houstonians are fortunate to have THE Dr. Matt Mann and Dr. Paul Mann right here in H-town.

My consultation, pre- and post-opp appointments, scheduling, meeting with their account/finance consultant, etc. were all flawless. And the surgery itself was painless. I had my surgery in the morning, went home, took a nap, and that same evening Ubered over to Feast With The Beast at the Houston Zoo. Yes, I had to wear wonky sunnies at night but I looked coo' like the Terminator.

My surgery was in Nov 2013, and 2+ years later I have better than perfect vision (on occasion that might suck because I can see every flaw in the mirror). However, Dr. Paul Mann also operates The Botox Bar, so there ya go. Blind no more and wrinkle free!
