Is a really nice atmosphere and fun place to eat. I little pricey though. Lobster was fair. Desert was okay.

The Quick: The view and location are great. You are on a fancy boat docked on the water with elegant decor. <br><br>The Details: The dress code is casual as most tourists stop by after exploring the town. The food is... Good. Not amazing nor terrible, very average and a bit pricey. Almost everyone liked their meals but there are much better options Portland. The pasta with salmon featured salmon from a can so I would not recommend that. However the lazy lobster was delicious (lobster in butter... What's not to like?) <br><br>I would recommend going for a drink and appetizers to enjoy the ambience and view, and walk a little way off of Main Street for dinner.

Dinner was so delicious and portions large. I got a pasta dish with shrimp, scallops and lobster and there was no skimpin' on the seafood. I hate when you order a dish like that and there's very little seafood, well, not the case here! Very cool setting, an old ferry boat docked at their marina, floating, original, beautiful views, just a cool idea. I had read that the dress code was pretty formal, but we did not bring anything but casual with us. I also heard that they can get pretty busy and crowded, so called and asked if a rez was needed. They said, nope, plenty of room, come on down! The walk from the hotel was rather chilly, so asked to be seated inside near the window. The hostess took one look at us (casual, mind you, not sloppy or wearing rags) and told us that there was no availability inside but they'd be happy to seat us on the outside (protected with plastic) deck. This we figured was total BS and when I went inside to use the restroom about 15 minutes later I took a look around and saw plenty of empty tables inside. I also noticed that people were dressed very nicely. So, I guess our casually dressed wallets were only good outside, it was the same menu/price as inside. Felt a little offended, honestly, hence the only reason for minus 2 stars. Otherwise, the food was excellent, the drinks were good, the service was good.

Average american faire. We ate inside the ferry restaurant, kids loved the experience.

It was a very rainy night when we went to dinner at DiMillo's. We ordered fried calamari as an appetizer and they had a nice light breading and a vinaigrette sauce. I liked the calamari, the sauce I could do without. I ordered pecan crusted haddock over corn bread and butternut squash stuffing. I enjoyed the haddock and pecans, not too fishy tasting. However I was not a fan of the corn bread stuffing and squash, too sweet for me. As a side I had fingerling potatoes and carrots that were prepared well. My husband had the seafood paella that he enjoyed. It had a good amount of seafood and sausage. It was a very filling plate. For dessert we enjoyed blueberry cobbler a la mode, it was just the right size.
