This place is a tourist trap. I LOVE the idea of it being a floating restaurant shaped as a boat. I ate here once 4 years ago, and decided to try it again- because like I said its a great experience.
We were of course put on a wait list (Labor Day weekend) and sat on the dock- no biggie. We were able to get seated next to a window at the bow of the boat, however our view was of the pier beam, again not too mad.
Our server was awesome, he was personable and didn't over crowd or rush us- something I, as an indecisive person, really appreciate!

We started with the bacon wrapped scallops- DELISH!
He ordered a beer, and I chose the habanero margarita (as a bartender myself, this had a KICK balanced w/ just the right amount of simple syrup to sweeten it up.....by far the best drink from my whole Portland trip!)
My s/o ordered the stuffed &breaded lobster for the first time. It came out tasting amazing!
I chose to order 2 appetizers as my meal- I couldn't fathom walking around and up all the hills Portland offers- after stuffing my face. I tried the steamed muscles (first time for me as well!) The sauce tasted great and presentation was cool- came in a rustic pail. Second thing I ordered was the spicy seared tuna. This fell short for me- hard. They were thinly cut (as advertised), the size of jalapeno slices per ea was overpowering, but when I took the pepper out of the equation it was completely bland- I could not taste the vinaigrette or even the aioli.

Overall this place is good for the experience, but for food nerds like me- there are better places to experience Maine Lobster in Portland.

No complaints about the food, service or pleasantness of the setting, however the RESERVATION dynamic is profoundly frustrating!!! Just made a third attempt in less than a month to book a table . Grrr have tried calling 4 days in advance and even for a weekday reservation outside...no go. We are local, but must have missed the distribution of secret DiMillo reservation code rings. Sad. Time to buy a dinghy, row to the waterfront and order takeout.
