Love to go to Portland each year and decided to try DiMillo's, we wanted to eat by the water. You get validated parking for 3 1/2 hours- a pretty good deal. The location offers nice views from just about any table. We were quickly seated on a Saturday afternoon @4:00. Our server (daniel ) was nice enough but seemed to disappear from time to time, and not check back with us (I wanted another glass of wine). My wife ordered the lazy man's lobster and I the 1/1/2 pound boiled lobster. My wife's lobster was ok, tender but the sauce/juice was nondescript. My supposed 1/1/2 pound lobster was more like 1-11/4 pound lobster, definitely not what I'm expecting for $39, it was fresh. My wife also thought her lobster portion was a little lean for $30. You only get one side with your meal, therefore a potato/starch, vegetable, etc., need to pay for a second. I might go back again but lobster is definitely not a strong dish for DiMillo's.

I am visiting Portland this week. I chose to come here despite the previous reviews. I think you pay mainly for the view which is fantastic. Food is below average. I had a stuffed baked lobster which was not the freshest and the stuffing was breadcrumbs. You have too pay extra to get additional stuffing beyond breadcrumbs. <br>If I come back to visit Portland I definitely will not come here.

Disappointing! Got lots of recommendations and decided to give them a try. It is unique being in an anchored ship that's where the good stuff ends The food was disappointing to say the least. The stuffed lobster was nothing to brag about and the grilled fish platter was smaller portion and nothing to even mention whereas there are so many other choices in Portland. I could not recommend DiMillo's.

This restaurant is really cool because it's a former car ferry. They have cool nautical decor that I think would be entertaining for people who are into those sort of things. I dined here with my family and my mom really enjoyed it. We went for lunch and I ordered the meatball with polenta. I know I know strange order at a seafood place, but it was delicious. My mom orders either lobster or crab legs I can't remember but she was not pleased. The seafood was very dry and not seasoned. The customer service was top notch however, and they ended up comping that off of the bill. This place can get really busy so making a reservation is advised. When we went it was in the middle of the day on a Saturday and luckily they were able to seat our party of 5.
