My mother who is a patient of Dr. Brian Hansel at Eye Surgeons. After today she will never again see this arrogant excse for a professional let alone doctor. He was extremely rude and demeaning during my mom's appointment. She is a 90 year old women and had a hard time hearing and sometime understanding. He was so irritated that he said he only had 10 minutes to spend with her. Since he gave up he said he was just going to write her a prescription blike the one she had which was 2 years old.

I was referred to them last Dec for an eye issue, seen by 2 doctors and diagnosed with strabismus. After trying to fit a prism without success decided to proceed with surgery. Was told I would be contacted within the week with a surgery date; 4 phone calls and 4 weeks later finally was told Dr wanted me to have a second opinion in Ia City and appt was made up there. When I got to my appt in Ia City, they didnt know why I was there as they had received no information from ESA. I then got a call from ESA the day after my appt in Ia City, and I expressed my frustration with the lack of communication to Ia City and the fact that I was losing confidence in ESA. They assured me they would contact me as soon as they got the report from Ia City. Another 3 weeks went by with no call. During that 3 weeks I received 2 phone call follow ups from Ia City, they informed me they had sent reports back to ESA, and wanted to know what I had decided. Needless to say I had my surgery done at UIHC. ESA you dropped the ball completely, worst patient care experience ever! If I could give you a negative star rating I would!

First visit and last! After torturing my eyes hardly any info, when I asked about the original reason for booking the appointment, the doc mumbled a few words and left the room. So that's a no for ever returning there. Especially when it cost me over 200.00 out of pocket for a so called " first time patient fee" which I was never informed of till the bill came!

She is rude and arrogant. Insisted in doing exactly what my mom asked her not to do! She thinks she knows your eyes and your reaction to medicine better than you do. Do Not Go To Her

I was not able to go back and be seen by the doctor because I had to reschedule my appointment 3 times. I have a father with colon cancer and recently stage 5 kidney failure.. He has been in and out of the hospital and I am his caretaker along with working a full time job. Sometimes my health has to wait to make sure he sees his doctors and is taken care of. So with not even asking me why she says we can no longer see you due to our attendance policy. I understand that it is frustrating when people do not show up or no show or have to reschedule but to me to have some human decency and understanding for people in certain situations might be something you want to think about. Very disappointing.
