Unfortunately my experience here ended at the front desk. I called ahead and asked if they were taking reservations and they said "no, walk ins are welcome." They forgot to mention the 1.5 hour wait time. I got there within 15 minutes of the phone call. The host serviced the party ahead of me (party 2) who had reservations and when it was my time, I was told 1.5 hour wait and I wasn't able to make a reservation. However the party ahead of me "made their reservations a month ahead." What a disappointment! I asked the locals what their opinion of the place was and I was told "overrated." I decided to check out Eventide Oyster Co. on market street and I was not at all disappointed.

Coming to Portland, I almost felt like I was back home in San Fran, until I sat down for lunch on this old, outdated "floating" ship-restaurant, which was recommended for my summer trip to New England. Fish smells are decades old embedded in the furniture and carpet, so unless you really like the smell of old, wet fish, I suggest you go somewhere else. My server was rude, slow and definitely did not like her job, complaining in the corner with co-workers about how bad dealing with us "losers" were for her. I didn't get beyond the expensive and weak chowder (with no clams in it), and left my customary cash payment on the table without one word from my server, as I walked out without a backward glance. Truly forgettable, except for the awful smell!

KELLY F ruined our experience here. The food was good and wanted to order more but did not feel welcomed with her service. We seemed to have been the only colored people there and that seemed to set the tone for the type of service we received

Incredibly rude service from Kelly F. Ruined the whole vibe. If you get her as a server immediately leave. #KancelKelly.

Quite honestly the food was good. Would have ordered much more if it wasn't for our rude waitress. Kelly F was incredibly curt and dismissive. Spilled wine on someone in our party without giving as much as a "sorry"...didn't even offer a napkin to help clean up. <br>Our order was decently large, we ordered lots of drinks and a bottle of wine...came back from the bathroom to hear our waitress saying shit about how long we've been sitting there and it hadn't even been an hour. "They're just sitting there ordering apps and only a bottle of wine". Sorry kelly, a $200 bill wasn't enough for your standards! Next time wait until your customers leave to start complaining about them. Not right where they can hear you. Did NOT feel welcome here.
