I knew it would be like this. God bless the unassuming tourists who frequent this embarrassment every summer. As a local, I deliberately avoided this place for nearly a decade, for the exact reason that it's in business: tourists.<br><br>The poor examples of Maine seafood dishes are wildly overpriced, and the entire place is a clustered maze of stuffy, cookie-cut dining areas, surrounded by bland decor which would only appeal to the masses.<br><br>Portland is bursting with authentic, lovely, hole-in-the-wall restaurants that serve fantastic, fresh seafood, and cost a fraction of the price of DiMillo's. Do yourself a favor and don't go here.

This is a classic overpriced tourist trap. Lobster was overcooked and rubbery. The lazymans lobster for 24 bucks was barely an appetizer and I question whether my 2.5lb lobster was anywhere near that!<br><br>Stay away

Tourist trap for the unimaginative diner. Yeah the calamari is good,but the bloody marys' are overpriced. The hostesses at the front can be meaner than rattlesnakes.

I figured it had been around for a while, they must be doing something right. Inside is beautiful, you really expect something nice, and the service was great.<br><br>Had clam chowder that tasted like it was from a can, though you know it wasn't because no cannery would put that much corn starch in their soup. My Mom had a lobster roll which she felt might have started to go off, I had two thin, rock hard planks of overly breaded something that were sold to me as fried haddock. My meal was worse than any cafeteria food that I had during high school. Everything accompanying the meal was stock Sysco institutional food service products.The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was wonderful, but the food was disgusting across the board. They weren't even trying. Oh, parking is great too, a nice deal in Portland. Just the food was uneatable. I guess tourists keep them alive.

Awful experience. Went there for a nice lunch before a sunset cruise. We did have a great waiter (Erich, I think), but the food was terrible! Frozen onion rings and frozen fish....the restaurant was literally ON THE WATER and they serve frozen fish!! <br>No way would I ever go back. The management also was rude when it came to asking to send food back and having the bill adjusted. Our waiter was great and I made sure to tip him well because it's not his fault he works for crappy establishment. My recommendation... Go anywhere, BUT DIMILLO'S!!!!
