Uh worst restaurant in Portland. Why would you eat here with all these other fantastic restaurants is beyond me. The place was terrible.

Dimillos needs to find a new hostess, it's New Year's Day and she has been a complete turd...next time spend the day in bed if you don't want to be friendly!! My food tastes bad already.. Hit js oyster bar for a better experience.

Worse than Red Lobster. Food is fair and overpriced. Atmosphere is a bad dining room. Many other great places to choose from in Portland.

    [3 visits, 2009-10]

Tourist Trap!

I've never eaten here by choice - twice for business, and once with family. This is the type of restaurant for people who enjoy good service, substandard food, and lunatic prices. If the on-a-boat setting, paper placemats, maritime decor, and serviceable lobster are your thing, then you may enjoy this restaurant. The steak came out grey and tough. When I sent it back I got... voila! Another grey steak that was barely edible.

All in all, not very surprising given the ambiance, and general touristy-ness... what was surprising was the bill. This is mall-food with theme-park atmosphere at fine-dining prices.

My hubby & I chose to have dinner here b/c it's right on the water and kid friendly. Those things it was....but the food was absolutely terrible and way overpriced. I've been working in bars/restaurants for over 10 years and in my lifetime have only returned a dish once- this will make the 2nd time. The fried calamari appetizer was totally unappealing, the calamari were so small- you could barely tell what they were. Then they were drenched in a balsamic dressing which was so overpowering and way too heavy. How do you mess up a caesar salad? They managed to. It was TINY dish but also the lettuce was cut up into itty bitty pieces then drowned in dressing so it got wilted pretty fast. Then they put in about a pound of bread crumbs. My entree was bowtie pasta in a carbonara sauce w/scallops. The ultimate no no with pasta- it was NOT al dente but mushy! The parslay they put on top was not fresh but from a shaker. The bacon in the unflavorful sauce was not cooked but fatty and soft. And it was $28 dollars! Don't bother with this place. Go right next door and wait the hour to get into Jay's Oyster House which was amazing and fresh, had some of the best seafood ever there and I'm from MD so I know seafood. On one positive note, the staff was friendly but that was the only positive hands down.
