Boston Vision in Brookline: I was able to book my evaluation appointment just 5 days out. I came in on Friday. It is a busy day in the Brookline office, as many surgeries being performed. We did about 4 various eye checks, including cornea thickness and the vision itself. I got to see a doctor, who told me my cornea was good enough for LASIK, but it is advised for me to proceed with PRK (some professions or involvement into combatives make PRK safer). ICL was not ideal as my vision only -2 (they prefer ICL when you are -3>). After 3 hours there I left the office with no decision. I called on Monday to schedule for PRK. We booked for Friday same week and now I was to sign the consent and pay the fees (some circumstances allow the discount). Tuesday, I paid with cash and card, combined, through the office and expressed my uncertainty about PRK of LASIK. I was told that I can still switch "last minute" on the day of surgery. Night prior to surgery, I had clinic's phone numbers written easily accessible and medication purchased: Extra-Strength Tylenol, Vitamin C. (After the surgery clinic will issue Artificial Tears and Prednisolone drops) Friday - SURGERY. I ate few bananas and asked a friend to be my driver (you must have someone you know). In clinic we did just 2 eye checks from the eval, to make sure all still good to go. I talked with the surgeon (different doctor, not from eval) and he made me sure to carry on with PRK. I was offered Xanox, to calm down. 2 hours after arrival I was invited into surgery room. I received numbing drops and "braces" for my eyes to keep them open. Couple minutes later I got another drops, and doctor did some tool contact with right eye. Now, you must keep looking for a green light. They lowered the laser above my right eye and let it do its thing for about 10 second. After laser was done, doctor placed a protective lense in the eye and repeated the whole process with the left one. Left eye was slightly more sensitive, but only to touching. No pain was felt in neither of the eyes. I spent about 10 minutes total in that room, And then I was sent home. Ride home I could see close as 20/20. I took meds and fell asleep as soon as I made it but woke up 5h later due to one of the protective lenses shifted. Not going to lie - it felt like a glass was under my eye lid. I readjusted the lense by carefully massaging the eye lid and fell asleep. (lenses will be removed by doctor on 1 week follow up, but could fall out before apparently) Next morning there is a one day follow up (I've been sleeping like 17 hours). I was told that I am recovering great, but I'd say my vision dropped from 20/20. Sunday, 48 hours since surgery, my vision got pretty blurry and light sensitive. I got pressure in the forehead and little burning in the eyes. I was napping all day. Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday, I gradually began to get better. I take medication as prescribed, can use devices and drive. Looking forward to one-week follow up on Friday. Conclusion: Different circumstances may dictate what procedure to go with. PRK has the longest recovery, but by the end of the day it will get you to desired result. It took me just 2 weeks from first contacting the clinic to now having almost 20/20. I will update you if something is odd. But as of right now, I am satisfied with this procedure and Boston Vision!

I recently had LASIK, and everything went smoothly! The procedure was quick, with minimal discomfort, and my vision improved almost immediately. Recovery was easyjust some dryness and sensitivity for a few days. Now, I see clearly without glasses or contacts. Definitely worth it!

My experience getting Lasik with Boston Vision was a breeze. I felt very prepared prior to my surgery, they did a great job providing resources that explained pre and post operation instructions as well as exactly what happens during the 12 minute procedure (it's truly over before you know it). After surgery I basically slept the rest of the day. I felt good the next day and great every day after. I'm now 1.5 weeks out from my surgery and I can see great and my eyes feel great, no more contacts or glasses!

I only have good things to say about my experience with Boston Vision. I had Lasik done early Friday morning, and my vision was nearly perfect by 3pm that same day. The results and recovery process are amazing. The procedure itself can be uncomfortable and overwhelming, so those that might suffer anxiety would definitely benefit from the medication offered by the clinic. However, I feel that the team did a good job in giving plenty of information prior to the procedure itself to calm my nerves and inform me of what to expect. Everything so far has been smooth and I'm happy to say that I have 20/20 vision after decades of wearing glasses!
