First let me say that I had Cataract surgery performed by Dr Manteen AliNiazee and I'm very happy with the results. He was personable and professional but did seem a little rushed during office visits. During the surgery itself he met with me before the procedure and took his time to explain what would happen and asked if I had any questions. He also reiterated what the post op care entailed. This went a long way to calm any nerves I had going into eye surgery. The whole procedure lasted less than 15 minutes and he kept me abreast of what he was doing the entire time. I will warn you of a complaint I have with Kovach Eye Institute office practices. In my initial evaluation appointment and approximately 6 follow up visits I have never been seen on my appointment scheduled time. The average wait has been over 45 minutes to an hour. The waiting area is packed to overflow and desk personal are constantly apologizing for the wait time. So while I recommend Kovach for surgery I encourage any prospective patients to pack a snack, cue up a movie on your mobile device and get comfortable, it will be a long wait.

I am very satisfied with the eyes that Dr. Kovach gave me! I am 3 months LASIK post-op without any serious complaints. I was very pleased with my LASIK consultation appointment, and very impressed with how much time Dr. Kovach spent explaining and educating me about the procedure. The waiting room was pretty busy, and I was waiting quite a while (about an hour) before being called back. The surgery appointment was pushed very quickly (on the same day as my consultation), but I could choose any availability best for me. All pre- and post-op education was given to me on that same day of scheduling my appointment. Staff was very friendly, and almost everyone I talked to got their eyes done there as well. My personal optometrist did all of my pre-op eye measurements, who forwarded my information to Dr. Kovach's office. The day of my surgery, I waited in the waiting room for about 2 hours before I was called back. The surgery itself was very quick but slightly uncomfortable. I appreciated how much they said my name in the procedure room and reviewed my measurements before starting the laser. I was a little upset that my pre-medication was given to me so early before the surgery itself (again, close to two hours prior). The post-op pain was more severe than I was anticipating. I was very uncomfortable with sinus pressure-like pain, unable to open my eyes, and photosensitivity. The morning after was easier, but still uncomfortable. I was back to normal about 3 days post-op. My personal optometrist did all of my follow up appointments. My eyes were constantly dry about 3 weeks following surgery and occasionally dry thereafter. I officially have 20/20 vision! The entire bill is pretty pricey. Kovach's office did not allow my insurance to apply the bill to my deductible at all, nor did they pre-approve my post-op eye drops to decrease the co-payment. Much pricier than a LasikPlus or similar facility, but am definitely satisfied, felt more comfortable, and would classify Kovach as more trustworthy in comparison. Overall, I am pleased with my results.
