It was a wonderful experience, they were able to fit me in to complete the draining of my stye. Would definitely recommend Dr.Moreira and her staff to anyone in need of an eye doctor.

Cataract surgery nightmare save your vision and go to another doctor!!My dad went to Neilson to have Cataract surgery. The surgery went well, aside from the fact that the doctor takes a photo with you right after surgery....that is a little odd. He went to his follow up the next day and the doctor said everything was good. His vision was blurry but Dr Nielsen said that was normal. Over the next few days he noticed that his vision was worse than it was before surgery, also he now had a gray spot in the center of his vision. We made an appointment with Dr Nielson who referred him to a retina specialist (who is in Dr. Nielsen's office) The retina specialist (Dr Weiter) said that it was swelling and gave him prescription eye drops and told him to come back in about a month. My dad followed the instructions and he still could not see well. At the follow up Dr Weiter explained to my dad that the swelling was gone, but his vision was not going to improve from what it was now. He didn't explain why his vision is now WORSE than before surgery. My dad asked the doctor if there was anything that could be done. The doctor told him there are no magic eyedrops or anything he can do, he finished the appointment by telling my dad not to worry that Babe Ruth only had vision in one eye and he could hit a ball going 90mph.....yes he really said that!We got a second opinion from a doctor not affiliated with Nielsen. This doctor is highly recognized and was referred by numerous people. The doctor said that my dad had Macular degeneration. Macular degeneration is a condition of the eye, he has it in both eyes so the eye surgery did not cause it. However, according to the doctor the condition should have been recognized and the cataract surgery should have NEVER been done. The doctor warned him against getting the other eye done or the same would happen. Nothing can be done my dad will NOT get his vision back. I wanted to post his story so it doesn't happen to another person. My dad can barely see out of the eye that was operated on it is not able to be helped by glasses like it was before. Once your vision is gone you cant get it back so be careful who you trust with your eyes.
