    We went to DiMillo's for the first time, we liked the concept um huge boat anchored but very much moving an grooving with the sea...They had a yummy Special Smokey Seafood bisque I cheated an had a cup, very tasty chock full of ahem Seafood. The next special was Bayou Haddock with Lobster sauce! Listen we were expecting bits of lobster tiny bits that melt on the spoon before it reaches your awaiting taste buds. Silly me this sauce contains Lobster and plenty of it this made our meal kick much more...OK Im back at the keyboard the veggies were great skinny green beans seasoned to devour with a choice of potato, fried, mashed or baked. Try the Caperese Flatbread Gawd its good. I like this place it rocks honestly it did just a little but it is on the ocean, If your going to DiMillo's be sure to ask for Nick D. he made the experience that much better, he knows the menu and what's Good Eats.     It's been a long time since I was hosted by DiMillo's, so it's most refreshing to see that standards have been maintained in the years that have passed. When you see local Portland residents giving recent 5 star ratings like Kimberley T. you know the place is doing something right. <br><br>In common with many people, one of the key reasons for visiting Maine was to try their famous seafood & I treated my mum to her first lobster here (surprisingly) and it was indescribably good. <br><br>I was a somewhat younger man then and although I had tried lobster prior, I had never been shown the correct way to shell it from scratch. <br><br>One of the young waiters there was amazing, guiding me through the process from start to finish. <br><br>Apart from the whole experience of DiMillo's being one of the true highlights of our US trip, this waiter also did me a massive service by allowing me to impress several women after this vacation with my awe-inspiring lobster shelling skills. <br><br>Great food, great service & great location, what more could you want?

    Had another great dinner at Dimillos over the weekend. Fried "lazy"-style lobster. Huge portion of awesome sweet lobster. How can of go wrong frying something as delicious as lobster? Also had great blueberry cobbler for dessert. Can't beat the great food, super service and amazing location.

    DiMillo's; A favorite place in Portland, ME. I have been going there for years. If you are an "Old Salt" as I am, you will like it. The food is always fresh & tasty. The decor is fascinatingly authentic, filled with items from the nautical era of the early 20th. century. The serving staff are obviously well trained. As for the cost, everything is very reasonable, except for lobster. lol.signed; Capt.Granddad.
