I waited over an hour and when I inquired as to how much longer, I was told another half hour so I rescheduled. I had to cancel that appointment due to caring for my father. When I attempted to reschedule I was told I couldn't because I canceled too much. Inconsiderate and inappropriate .

Dr Marrotte seemed to be experienced but has a problem with attitude , she is detractive and condescending to patients , she talked down to me and doubted that I had full vision insurance despite me telling her that I did . As she asked the receptionist to verify my insurance since she didn't believe me, an elderly man using a walker entered the room and she yelled at him scornfully because his mask slipped down as he was struggling to get to a chair even though nobody else was in the waiting room and she was 15 feet away . Someone of this character should not be in a position to deal with the general public. I was insulted that she treated me as if I was mentally deficient when I have a 148 IQ which most assuredly is greater than hers.

$700+ self pay for a retinal exam is ludicrous. Every other retinal specialist I have asked have been $250 - $500 max. Lower your prices people

I drove one of their long time patients and waited for her today, after she checked in at the front desk, a tech who was walking by showed us where to sit, a few minutes later, one of the receptionists and not a tech came over to dilate my patients eyes. After a 30 minute wait, the Dr. walks over and says he had been looking for her and couldn't find her? He had NO clue why the tech and receptionist had us in the front waiting room, by the front door. As I am waiting, the receptionist says I do not need to wait at the window and to go sit in the other waiting room, closer to the patient. More and more people start to come in and are also getting eye drops by the receptionist as they wait to see their doctor. By this time, the receptionist has me in a corner where they keep the eye drops and gloves, a different receptionist walks over a few minutes later and gives me a hard time for sitting where she needs to be? Because I was a foot away from her eye drops and gloves, the woman who works there wearing black scrubs, but not a doctor or even a tech jumps all over me, she says that I am in a doctors office and in the way as she is trying to administer drops, I say absolutely nothing to her, the last thing I want is drama with this nutcase. Little does she know, I work in Pediatrics and have forgotten more than she knows regarding medicine. Whether she knew that I was just told to sit down there by one of her co-workers minutes prior, I have no clue? I don't mind any employee telling me to get up and move to a different seat, it was the tone that shocked me, and the craziest thing was, I had just been told to sit there! Oh my goodness, many of the receptionists appeared very tired, possibly they are overworked, there was no passion at all for their jobs and quite grouchy. Which is fine to be grouchy, but not at me who is simply waiting for my patient in the seat that I was told to sit in. I will be returning with this patient in 2 weeks and look forward to speaking with the one who jumped all over me shortly. The even more bizarre thing was, after I moved from the seat, right away a man in his 60's walked in and he had a HHA with him, his HHA sat in the exact seat that I had just been told to move from and when the same grouchy receptionist came over, she did not tell him to move and made small talk with him, not one word about being too close to her eye drops and gloves. It's safe to say, ownership needs to step in and observe a bit more. I have been in E.R.'s, NICU's, CVICU's, ICU's, etc., etc. and have never seen unit secretaries, receptionists or anyone for that matter speak or act in such a negative manner. Like I said, it was her tone. Next time here in 2 weeks, we'll see how she acts then.

I've been a patient with the eye Institute going on 10yrs. I have severe eye issues due to glocoma and currently in need of a Corina transplant Before covid it was a great place as far as doctor offices go. The staff and doctors were very friendly and informative most had a smile on there faces and great attitudes. 1st name bases with most of the people there. They were very willing to help and accommodate the patient as much as they could with meds, drops, needed paperwork without being cgarged, appointments and getting the person you need on the phone or return calls were much easier.... So now during and after covid my sight has taken a big down turn and had to take leave from work. The doc office seem to take on a gloomy and unhappy atmosphere and just about everyone is new including my main doctor, this is my 4th primary care doctor by this time. She's very nice and caring and all that but like the rest if the staff, seems she just didn't want to be there and almost robotic with the visit. Now after covid not much has changed but seems to have that same, I just want to do what I need to and robotic mentality. They all seem like very nice and friendly type people but its like they all have someone watching there every move and God help'em if they mess up. I'm sure most if us have work for places like this So with my leave from work/insurance there's some very important paperwork that has to filled out and returned within 15 days if you want to keep your job, if and when your able to return or just being able to see driving when it's still dark out. And padded from short term disability At this point I have 3 really good doctors looking at me. Probably some of the best in there fields They scheduled me for transplant surgery but its 4 months out, I can not be out if work that long. I love my marriage and wife and want to keep it that way. The doctor gave me a couple of referrals to other offices in the area. My primary doctors already have those forms I was telling you about and about 10 days in with very little communication. Buy the time the paperwork is returned to the proper places there incomplete and 13 days in. I was also charged $50 per form (2) really?! When they discover I'm scheduled with the new doctors office they tell me that the new doctor has to fill out part if the paperwork, WHAT? But today I receive a call from primary telling me it's another $50 for new forms and the others, the ones I get paid from, can take up to 30 days, Wth?! I'm at day 43 now with no payments from my insurance and my job is asking where the hell is the paperwork so you can keep your job and insurance. Is it just me or should I find a new doctor office? which I think I did already matter of fact, they just called asking me for some info to complete the papers and get them sent in and at NO charge. Epic!
