I never thought I would no longer be going here. But, I had gotten opinions from UCSF about my eye; man, did everyone here not reveal a lot to me. I trusted Dr. Reader, Dr. So, Dr. Wayne Fung, Dr. Anne Fung, & Dr. Sung all these years & they let me down, putting my eye at great risk.UCSF found some cyclitic membranes on top of the scar tissue & glaucoma tube. They also had a hard time seeing in because of my pupil being small & the membranes. So, I ended up having as many cyclitic membranes removed as possible, scar tissue along with the defective glaucoma tube removed, & a pupiloplasty to let more light in. Man, is mty vision better. UCSF also ran a few b scans along with an ultrasound bio microscopy which led to all these findings which no one at Pacific Eye Associates did. In the faul, I am having a corneal transplant at UCSF because of my edemadous opaque cornea which is because of the tube pushing on my cornea for so long. I cannot believe these guys had such a nonchalant black & white attitude, only wanting to remove the tube at that; I am never coming back; I am staying at UCSF where it is the real deal. I will miss the friendly staff.

I came in for an emergency procedure, refereed to her office from my primary care doctor. She had zero bedside manner and kept me overlong, without explanation (simply left to room and did not return) for 20 minutes because she was "looking for some students" to show my eye. Hey, I want to further medical research, but at least tell me what you're doing before you make me wait. Also, she provided me no information that turned out to be accurate. Now, this wasn't fully her fault, the damage was worse than expected, but she did not inform or prepare me for any of the worst case scenarios, one of which came to fruition. She might be a great doctor, but she's a horrible healer.

Concur with most of the reviewers. The Doctors are good, the front-end office is a mess. Add in long waits, questionable bills and inability to reach your doctors assistant direct for simple questions. You end up having a pretty bad experience on top of the medical issue you are already having. Let's say you can add high blood pressure to your list of medical woes after dealing with Pacific Eye Associates.
Example: I have seen my doctor 4 times over a 6 month period for a medical issue. When I called to get a simple question answered right after my last exam, I was told that I would have to make an appointment to ask the questions.

Let's get modern here, a simple email to the Doctor's assistant would of sufficed. It is 2013 for gods sake!

Good doctors but long wait time . . . . office primary objective is more about $$$ than patients. They are also VERY expensive. I was told $200 for a perscription examination. You can get the same thing downtown in SF for about $75-$95.
