There was a total mix up regarding what I was scheduled to have done when I arrived (contacts and eye exam). Long story short, I had to have two appointments instead of one because of their ineptitude.

Fast forward one year, my contact prescription expired by three weeks. I called to see if I could have it renewed. I left a message for Lisa, I didn't hear back, they also make their phones busy in the last 10 minutes of the work day. Thankfully 1-800 contacts had a solution so I'll have my contacts in 2 business days, no thanks to this place. Pass.

Excellent Physician. AWFUL Admin/"Customer Service" Staff. I've seen several ophthalmologists and the optometrist at this practice over 25 years. They've all been top-notch and caring. However, the "customer service" staff has gone from bad to dreadful. If you call to make an appointment or ask a question, be prepared to be addressed in a snotty tone, interrupted repeatedly, and spoken over, and put on hold endlessly. It's like pulling teeth to get assistance from this crew. At the practice itself, front-desk staff have ranged from acceptable to distracted to outright rude. They are usually very, very busy here and there can be long waits and delays. The patient is never informed why they may be waiting 45 minutes to an hour past their appointment time. I've come to expect this and my doctor is worth the wait; I know that emergencies happen, but the staff should have the courtesy to inform waiting patients of the situation. But the rudeness over the phone is the worst and inexcusable. Is anyone paying attention over there?

I accompanied a patient to her appointment with a doctor at this place. The doctor she saw appeared to be very irritated and behaved as if she was bothered by my patient's very serious eye problem. My friend suffered from a nearly sudden-onset problem that rendered her legally blind; this doctor didn't want her as a patient and it was very depressing. The support staff was excellent but I would never refer anyone to this doctor.

Some great doctors here but the inefficiencies continue to drive me crazy. Poor communication between the front desk and the doctors, and appointments are sometimes over an hour late. I'd love to hear recs for other cornea specialists as this place is ridiculous!!!

At first I thought Dr Oxford was knowledgable and could help. Nothing she tried did help. When I called and spoke to her staff about another appointment to see what else could be done, I was told I was too old to help. Ageism bigotry! I tried another reknown opthamologist who did not help me but recognized I needed a more specialized opthamologist and referred me to a clinic at UCSF. After 14 years of trying to get relief, I am 98% better. Do not waste your time in this office.
