My introduction to Pacific Eye Associates didn't start under the best of circumstances--I got something caught between my eye and contact lens one weekend and ended up with a scratched cornea that hurt like a mother-effer. After digging around the Aetna site (with one functioning eye) on Monday morning, I called Pacific Eye as soon as they opened and was in the office seeing Dr. Heiden by noon the same day. Yes, it's a busy place and you might have to wait a bit to see a doctor, but I think that comes with the territory when you go to a successful practice. Dr. Heiden is a to-the-point dude, but I always felt like he was attentive and invested in fixing that eyeball. He insisted I come back the next day to check over how things were healing, and then again after using eyedrops for a week to clear me for contacts again. This level of attention sold me on the place.

I've since seen Dr. King twice for my annual contact lens exam and it's been great. I've been to a few optometrists that feel more like sales people instead of health care providers--Dr. King's not that guy. Each time I've had appointments in the morning and I've been in and out in about an hour.

I've always had an awesome experience with the office staff, too. They managed to correctly bill my medical insurance for the visits with Dr. Heiden, and they've made the whole annual exam billing with VSP completely effortless. Yeah, one of the opticians tried to sell me a pair of glasses that I probably didn't need (especially when I'm considering LASIK within the next year or so) but took no for an answer and just ordered more contacts instead.

TL;DR - Solid place that fixes you up in a pinch and is also great for general ongoing eye care.

I have been "legally blind" since birth--extreme myopia, and worn glasses since I was very young. Now have cataracts in both eyes and my optometrist sent me to Reader. They're very professional, lots of testing, he did one eye and now I don't even need contacts anymore. I'm making an appointment for the second eye today. For me, the surgery was quick, easy and there were no negative effects at all.

Several weeks ago, my mom had her eye exam with Dr. Lin to evaluate her cataracts. He was friendly and patient with my mom during the examination. His office scheduled the surgery to be performed by Dr. Lin for today.

At CPMC this morning, Dr. Lin checked on my mom as she was being prepared for the procedure. He confirmed the procedure and ensured her of the process. When my mom returned to the patient room after her procedure, Dr. Lin came by and stated that my mom did well and the procedure was successful and that he would see us at the upcoming follow-up appointment.

Dr. Lin is a personable doctor with his nice bedside manners and reassurances to the patient and family members.

    Need an optometrist?

Dr. King. Dr. King. Dr. King! I had an intensely positive experience with him . Not all doctors are created equal, and this one is genuinely gifted in his work. He's also very *very kind... really liked him.

Note: It pains me a little to see some negative reviews based on personal opinions of office staff. I had great interactions straight across the board. Especially with Mary, Sam, and Dustin.

Dr. Anne Fung is outstanding. She is caring, thorough and just awesome. I'll be forever thankful to her for finding a semi-hidden tumor in my eye and helping me through treatment options. Yes, it is a big place that is super crowded, busy and sometimes takes a bit ... early morning appointments are best to avoid that.
