This review concerns two doctors - Dr. Ali Zaidi and Dr. Laura Inger.

I was referred to Dr. Zaidi at Pacific Eye Associates to check on a new floater. I've had uniformly bad experiences with another ophthalmologist very nearby -- always being made to wait WAY past the appointment time, in an obviously overbooked waiting room, and then being treated curtly without apology -- so I was apprehensive when I saw the large, busy waiting area here.

But I was seen almost immediately and treated with great respect. Dr. Zaidi is a good listener and explainer, and his assistant, whose name I forget, seemed equally competent.

After visiting 2 more times for an eyeglass prescription with Dr. Inger (reviewed below) and getting the same prompt, cordial treatment, it finally dawned on me that their waiting area is only large & busy because it's shared by EIGHTEEN practitioners. The guy just up the street to whom I alluded to earlier and whom I won't name here, can't hold a candle to these folks.

A few days after the visit with Dr. Zaidi, I saw Dr. Inger for my first pair of progressive lenses. Having read about long adjustment periods, I arrived with no small amout of trepidation. I explained to Dr. Inger that I'd been unable to tolerate either of the last 2 pairs of glasses I'd had made. She put me very quickly at ease, so I hoped this third time would be the charm. She was patient yet energetic, easy to talk to, and explained everything quite well. Some time later I had the scrip filled, and adjusting to them took all of 3 minutes, which had me wondering if the prescription was indeed correct. I called her about this -- feeling somewhat weird for saying what amounts to "They're too easy to get used to!" -- but she spent a good 15 minutes with me, verified they were indeed done right, and DIDN'T charge me.

I want to stress that at all 3 visits I was seen almost immediately. I should also mention that Dr. Inger did NOT push me to use the in-house optician there, as I've found to be the case elsewhere. (And judging from the number of complaints here about that part of the business, maybe she was wise not to say much.) In any case I'm glad to have found both of these doctors and will definitely go back to them as needed.

Dr. Scott So is currently treating my glaucoma using laser treatments and it has stopped the progression for two years using no eye drops. This review is about him - not the chaotic scene at the clinic. He gave me several options for treatment, asked me to research them and come back with more questions and, in the end, I had the laser procedures done. They are not a fix but they do stop the progression and I do not have to try and find the correct eye drop or eye drops nor do I have to use drops every day. His mannerism is friendly and professional. The staff, for the most part, is also friendly but the turnover is high. But this is just about Dr. So
