The Dr. Was pleasant and the lady helping her was great! The issue comes with the logistics of the front office. I tried to reschedule my surgery one full month before the date and they insisted they need to charge me $350. When I asked about the logic behind it the lady didn't know so I had to speak to the manager. The manager had a very generic answer. She basically said there is "a lot of paperwork that's needed". I asked her how changing the appointment date would change that paperwork and she couldn't answer. I told them I won't be a patient there anymore. I hope the Dr. Realizes how this comes across to patients as very poor customer service. I understand if I changed the surgery two days in advance, but I gave you a month notice.

I really want to like this practice because the doctor is really knowledgeable in her field and the technicians are great but here is whats stopping me from it:- Last visit, I was scheduled for an 8.40 am appointment. I showed up at 8.35, a few minutes later the technician comes and does the routine tests (which takes about 10 minutes). 9.20ish rolls around and I still havent seen the doctor. I had to get back to work. I did not imagine that a follow up appointment was going to take more than 1 hour I had to leave -you know, one needs a job to pay the doctors bill- well they had the nerve to charge me a $35 no-show up fee. When I was there, however the doctor is overbooked and doesnt show up to the appointment on time (8.40am not 9.30!). I was in a rush so I paid it.- Scheduling a procedure - cross linking - according to their practices you MUST have a ride to take you back after the surgery due to the medication they give you. You cant take an Uber, must be a person that you know who picks you up. Fine. They called me about a month out from the date, with hesitation I agree to the suggested day/time which was 12/22. I call the person thats supposed to be my ride well that person cant that day. I call back the office (within 20 minutes) to change the date to one that my ride is actually available, is not until the end of the day that I am able to be transferred to the girl that does the scheduling, well they wanted to charge me a $350 rescheduling fee (as mentioned by other patients in other reviews) for a procedure thats over a month away! Im calling the same day for gods sake! Well less than 48 hours prior the office calls to ask if they can change my time..?!?!? Absolutely not! I had to figure everything out to accommodate their time a month ago and now they wanted to cancel where is my $350 cancellation fee?!

On 06/23/22, my 85 year old father scheduled two eye surgery dates for 7/20/22 and 7/27/22, and went to a consult on 7/6/2022. At the consult, my father was given a list of possible complications and risks associated with the eye surgery, because of this and coupled with the fact that she wasn't super nice, so he didn't trust her, my father chose to cancel the appointments. When he tried to leave, Dr. Cottle and her nurse chased him into the corridor, and made him return to the office. They wouldn't allow him to leave until he paid them a $350 dollar cancellation fee. A cancellation fee for an appointment scheduled for THREE WEEKS LATER! What an incredible scam, and how disgusting do you have to be to hold an elderly man until he pays a ransom??!!On top of this, she charged Medicare and their supplemental insurance. Man, she made out like a bandit.I would give zero stars if I could.Shame on you Dr. Cottle.

Worse experience at doctors office I ever had in my 55 years of seeing doctors. Was diagnosed with eye condition by optometrist and I knew I had to get a procedure to halt the progression of the disease. I made appt with Dr Cottle. I made sure to go prior to appt and sign release of information so they can request info from optometrist before my appt. Had appt paid $400. After my visit doctor said will call me when she compares my results with previous tests from optometrist. I waited for phone call a week no call, I called back and was told they have not received results from my doctor. I then waited another week and still no phone call. Office receptionist said we received results and doctor will call you back. Doctor never called. It started to feel like I was begging. I made appt with doctor in San Antonio and saw him. Never heard from Dr. Cottle. Very uncaring and callous attitude from the doctor if you ask me.In June received explanation of benefits from insurance and I was owed $100. They received same letter in April and according to law in TX doctor should refund within 30 days. Pretty sure if I did not ask I would never hear from them. I called and was told I needed to speak with OFFICE MANAGER about refunds and she will call back. No one called. Then I was told my $56 will be waiting for me in the office. I then called back billing to ask why it was not $100 and was told again OFFICE MANAGER will explain. I asked her you cannot look in my account and tell me as I was starting to lose patience. She said no office manager deals with that. Apparently this petty office makes you deal with imaginary office manager when you ask for your money back. It gets better, when I asked to mail the check since I was living in San Antonio she emailed a letter that I would need to sign and send back that I am responsible if check gets lost in mail. Pretty crazy stuff. I said I will be in Austin and will pick up check. When I went to pick up check I had to sign paper that it was payment in full. Pretty sure they owe me $40 since that is what explanation of benefits said but I realize they need it more then I do. Be careful giving money as you will have hard time getting it back. Did not like how I was treated by doctor or staff.
