    Never go for a routine eye exam. I went today.A young lady took me into the room and did eye pressure check and asked basic questions then she brought me into another room. She asked me if I like my current glasses. I told her yes I like it (I mean the frame). She asked me to put it on and cover one eye. Read out the letter best I can see, then switch to the other eye. After that, she said very good, and start to put eye drops for dilating pupil. I asked her that she has not done any vision check yet. She said She just did by asking me read the line and got the number by putting my eye glasses into the reading machine(?).I said to her that she did not use the slides equipment to check the vision neither for distance nor for reading. She said to me it is not necessary. I told her I came for eye exam not eye glasses exam. I need accurate number for a new pair of progressive eyeglasses. She was not happy stating I was telling her to do her job. I told her I was telling her what she needs to do for an eye exam. My insurance pays for a completed exam. She can't escape the procedures. After that, she reluctantly did the exam. I got the prescription but I don't know how accurate that will be. I will never go back.I called my eye specialist and made an appointment.Nelson eye center in Quincy is definitely for a routine eye exam.

    They only care if you're getting non-insurance services. I had my lasik here it was wonderful service. No wait time at consultation and surgery I was in and out. Now comes the after care; keep in mind you have no choice but to go to them or the "warranty" is null and void. <br><br>First annual after visit - 15 min wait. I tell them I have bcbs which is accepted. They "try" to check system is down. We will check insurance Monday but you need to pay now for exam. I was a new mom I never followed up my own fault.<br><br>2nd year - 15 min wait. The 10 min annual exam was a joke. Was told they do not accept any of my insurances - bcbs, Davis or eye med. Again too busy to follow up my own fault. <br><br>3rd year - 40 min wait to see dr. Prior to visit I called to tell them I had BCBS and i confirmed online they accept bcbs insurance. Response was yeah ok. I get to office they never checked and Lo and behold the bcbs system was down I had to pay for my visit. I did make a stink seeing as I had already told them to run my insurance. They told me billing would call me on Monday which they did. <br>Billing: hi Peggy so yea we called bcbs and yea you are right they do cover eye exams!! So did you want me to bill insurance????<br>Me: ummm yes. (Why wouldn't i since this was initial request)<br>Billing: ok! So when they pay us did you want a refund of what you paid or did you just want a credit in your account?<br>Me: (seriously wtf kind of question is that?!) umm I want my money back?! <br>Billing: ok no problem as soon as I get the $ fro insurance I'll send you a check!<br><br>Bcbs processed same day. 2 months later I have no check. I call billing (same lady I won't name names) where is my $ it's been 2 months and left detailed message. They call me back asking me to call them back for more info. Another call I gave you name stated exactly what I wanted but I still need to call you back. <br><br>Me: hi so you needed me call you back????<br>Billing: hi!!! Can you verify your bday?<br>Me: xxx <br>Billing: oh yea ok you are right we owe you money I'll process but the dr only sign checks once a month so mY take a few weeks. Call me back I 2 weeks if you don't get a check <br><br>I did receive check a week later but seriously? They are running a shady business they try refuse insurance and will not do a thing unless you push them to check. They will tell you system is down In hopes you will not follow through. <br><br>Try this again next year at my annual exam and I'll report you. No more games.<br><br>After my surgery I highly recommended them after I experienced the after care I've actually told ppl to stay away.

    My 90 year old father had an appointment at 2:30 pm. They made him wait 2 hours, shut the lights off in the office and forgot about him. He sat there and when he went to find someone the lights were off. Not to mention my 88 year old mother who has heart issues and chronic back pain was in so much pain in the waiting room while the office took everyone else before my father's 2:30 appointment. He wasn't late..They just made him wait. So they won't be going back. The traffic my father had to deal with at rush hour because of this delay was awful and avoidable. Very upset.

    the worst of the worst eye center i used to visit in my life.dr steven nielsen is a racist unfriendly doctor ever. I don't need visit a doctor to hear "yeah", "yup", "nope", "good". He doesn't want to listen what the patient's concern and question, his face show no emotion like a robot. He just want to show up like he does "work". It's ridiculous that he ask me look at the camera and smile and use it as a very happy and satisfied patient. I visited this eye center, he told me that I have a young cataract which need to be surgery. And then, I have the other consultant tell me about the surgery, I asked for the cost of surgery, she told me " we don't know". I asked the front desk for the cost of the visit and cost of cataract surgery, they told me the same "we don't know and we gonna send you bill later". Then, they called me to tell me about time, location and money need to bring to pay for cataract surgery, "so this amount $$$ your insurance will pay and this amount $$$ you need to pay right before you have surgery." I went to the surgery location, they collected the amount $$$ they told me if not I won't have the surgery. Nielsen showed up like he used to be " a robot face", he did the surgery and ask me sat next to him look at a camera, I don't know what's going on b/c my eye just had a surgery. the camera's " FLASH" and this is the "other satisfied patient", really??? He doesn't care what's my eye after surgery and my feelings and this is the "other satisfied patient" ? Before the surgery, I don't need glasses to see or read, after cataract surgery I have to have glasses with me at all time to see. The useless work ever. Months later, Nielsen Eye Center sent me bill ask to pay for the cataract surgery, they claim that the my insurance paid them but not enough what they want to charge so they ask me to pay. How ridiculous that they told me before the surgery this $$$ your insurance pay, you don't have to worry and you need to pay this amount $$$ right before the surgery and they asked me to pay and collected that amount right before surgery, and now send me a bill ask me pay more??? IF YOU NEVER VISIT THIS EYE CENTER, YOU SHOULD NOT VISIT ONCE IN YOUR LIFE. IF YOU VISITED, NEVER COME BACK.
