My husband has been seen by Dr. Bozorg, and we cant speak too highly of her. Wed been living in Phoenix where hed been seen by a number of specialists, including a Neuro-ophthamologist at the Mayo Clinic, for a constellation of symptoms, and his eyesight and general health had continued its decline despite the specialists. One of the reasons wed moved back east was that wed thought if anyone could help him the person would be here, where many of the best specialists in the country are located. He saw Dr. Bozorg several times, and she spent extensive time with him, both in evaluating him and in discussing his symptoms, whether he felt hed improved since the last time shed seen him, and any number of other topics that might give insight into his condition. After doing these many evaluations, she suggested that what was going on might be outside the scope of her expertise, and she suggested my husband be seen by a specialist at MERSI, whom she knew of because shed attended a discussion by one of their specialists. BINGO!! The best and most influential referral wed gotten, all thanks to Dr. Bozorgs care and her having, basically, continued her education. My husband, through MERSI, finally received a definitive diagnosis of having a rare eye disease, Occular Cicatricial Pemphigoid, and is receiving treatment that is helping to restore the sight in his one eye that was not blinded by optical neuritis. Had it not been for Dr. Bozorg, her care and her observational qualities and, ultimately, her referral, it is entirely possible that my husband would be blind by now. Five-plus stars!

All you have to do is lose your sight and have it restored to know the true value these practitioners bring to the table. Two detached retinas six years apart both left an eye blind. Then cataract surgery after the retina repairs healed. That qualifies me as a miracle of modern well-done medicine as just a half century ago it would be me, a dog and a can full of pencils for sale on a street corner. I do recommend these folks. Oh, and I now have 20/25 vison in both eyes, had the corrective lenses taken off my license that has been on there for 53 years.

My experience at Maine eye in Portland was a professional one - great service and the wait time was very minimal.
