I had LASIK done a week ago by Dr. Goel in the Columbia office and had a fantastic experience. He's genuinely one of the kindest and most personable doctors I've worked with. The office is very clean and all of his employees are kind and helpful. I appreciate that he charges the same price for everyone, no matter what procedure you get, different than some other LASIK centers (so it doesn't feel like he has incentive to push for a certain procedure over others). He was able to answer my dozens of questions and calm my worries through the entire process, and the procedure itself was alot less scary and faster than I expected! He even called me over a weekend to answer questions, and called to check in the night after surgery.Different doctors recommend different timelines for keeping out contacts prior to surgery since it can impact eye scans used to do the surgery. Dr. Goel said 5 days is typically long enough, but others say 2 weeks, so this created some confusion for me. I ended up deciding to wait a full 2 weeks to be safe and was happy I did as my eye shape ended up changing between the 5 day and 2 week marks.Right after surgery I was blurry but saw better. Had some pain for 4-5 hours after the surgery but not unbearable, just kept eyes shut. The next morning could see better than 20/20. A week later I'm dealing with dryness and see halos around lights, and one eye is ever so slightly blurrier than the other. These symptoms are supposed to go in and out for the next 3-6 months while my eyes stabilize. Overall am super happy with the results and will recommend any of my friends/family in the area to Dr. Goel! Thank you doctor!!

It was a great visit with Dr. Goel and his most professional staff. After 15 years from my LASIK surgery which Dr. Goel performed in Annapolis, I wanted to get a "check up" and not that I was having any problems (I still have 20/20 vision), I just wanted to get a thorough eye exam since I had not had one performed since my retirement physical in the US Navy over 6 years ago. The trip to Dr. Goel's office in Columbia was well worth it. The exam not only resulted in a great check up on the health of my eyes, it also provided me a great education on the future care of my eyes as I get older.
