I do not write this review unless I am very satisfied. I had worn contact lens for 10 hrs per day at work and had worn glasses at home for 15+ years. I had been considering eye surgery for many years. After tons of researches, I decided to have SMILE Lasik because the recovery time is fast and it causes less dryness compared to other Lasik and PRK.I have two little boys to take care and had dry eye problem, so SMILE was only my consideration. Luckily, I was a good candidate and I had scheduled the surgery on the day I did pre-examination.During the procedure, Dr. Goel's voice was really calming but I did not realize there was music playing until I was done with the procedure. (I was too nervous and anxious.) I was able to see the entire process though (no blackout moments except the green laser). It was painless and prompt procedures! Of course, there was uncomfortable moment, but I was not able to feel the pain at all. This was done in like 30 secs each eye.The recovery time was really fast too. After taking a nap, I felt like some eyelashes were inside my eyes, but It was not painful. This feeling was gone after a couple days. I was able to see 20/15 with my right eye on the 3rd day after surgery. The left eye was little blurry, but was still 20/20. It has been 7 days now and I have felt that my left eye is getting better too.I truly appreciate Dr. Goel because I had bothered him with text messages after my surgery. He was very professional to answer all my questions, and he even got back to me during weekends. Today, I got a holiday mail with his handwriting delivered to my house. Thank you so much!I also appreciate all the staff members who were very nice and kind whole time.I highly recommend Dr. Goel if you are considering eye surgery.No wonder he has so many five star reviews.

Dr. Goel and his team are phenomenal. The process runs really smoothly, and they are warm, friendly and understanding throughout the whole patient experience. As for the SMILE procedure itself, it felt like only a couple minutes. The instructions you have to follow during that time are to keep your eye pointing in the direction of a reference light.Then after I got back home, I took the recommended three hour nap and woke up feeling 90% back to normal. The only sensation I felt intermittently was like having a small hair stuck in my eye, but no worse than what you might feel with contacts sometimes. Within a day, I felt back to normal. There are recovery steps like wearing sunglasses and using the eye drops, and they provide clear instructions for you to reference.All in all, I was amazed at how smoothly it went, and with all the small touches that made it a unique and personal experience. If you are considering the procedure, I highly recommend Dr. Goel and the fantastic team he has at Goel Vision!
