I have been going to Dr Oxford for roughly 4 years for yearly checkups and have always been really really happy with the service of the office and her abilities.Yes this is a really really big office with probably 7-10 various types of eye doctors. They can get crazy busy and the wait can be a little long but that tells you they are very popular.Office and examination rooms are very clean and well laid out. They provide wifi.Highly recommend this Doctor's office.Park in the garage as street parking is really tough

I'm writing this in September of 2021 after having an appointment with Dr. Zaidi today. I was a patient here in the '90s for both optometry and serious ophthalmology issues, including eye surgery. I changed to Kaiser for almost 20 years when my employment started providing full health coverage with Kaiser. Now that I am retired, and covered by Medicare and Blue Shield, I can go where I want, so I chose to return to Pacific Eye. The purpose of my exam today was for a routine "diabetic retinopathy exam," which is recommended for patients with type two diabetes. After getting through reception, I was promptly escorted to an exam room by a technician who ran some usual tests (the famous puff test, a field of vision test, etc.) She was pleasant and professional. She then took me to Dr. Zaidi's exam room, where there was a bit of confusion because he wasn't completely finished with the previous patient. I could tell the technician was a little flustered by that. She asked me to wait a few minutes in a chair in the hallway.Dr. Zaidi was very pleasant and obviously extremely knowledgeable. The exam was straight forward, no nonsense but not at all rushed. Findings were discussed and a plan to come back once per year to keep an eye on things. Like other MDs at this clinic, his credentials are outstanding. So, everything was fine today. However, I could sense a bit of disorganization at the reception area and I could also sense a bit of negative vibe. Hard to put my finger on it, but its like the feeling you get around a small group of people who either just had an argument or who just don't like each other. When entering the reception room for the clinic, you see a line of reception stations lined up next to each other. There were three or four staff. Each station had a large plastic shield in front and each worker was masked. Like other places in the pandemic, its hard to know who you're supposed to talk to. I recommend they put a "wait here" sign near the entry because we feel kind of lost over which desk to approach. When I approached one desk, the woman seemed a bit rushed and told me she was still wrapping up with someone else. But that was just a slight delay and soon I was seated in a small waiting room. I was called in within 5 minutes. I returned to that reception area after my exam concluded to ask about any charges and to schedule my next appointment. It felt equally unclear of which reception station I should approach. NOW, IN FAIRNESS, I believe this is all due to Covid-19 accommodations. I recall that in the past, one would walk into a spacious and rather beautifully appointed room with a huge aquarium in the middle. Eye glasses frames were on display on one side of the room, and the reception counter was on another side. One could sit while waiting or wander around looking out the windows or at the aquarium or check out the cool frames. I suspect the current reception/waiting room was just set up to control the flow of people and maintain distance between staff and visitors during the pandemic. No more wandering around! I noticed that the slew of negative Yelp reviews are recent, so it's my guess the problems can be blamed on changes they have made for Covid-19. Perhaps they are also short handed, as so many places are nowadays. However, an explanation is not an excuse. Pacific Eye should take steps to correct the problems. It seems the complaints are nearly all related to reception (phone and in-person) and general customer service, NOT the quality of the actual eye care. So, that indicates where changes need to be made. For me, I will cut 'em slack during the pandemic and I will definitely return to and recommend this clinic.

The physician and staff members are courteous, thorough and competent but I spend an inordinate amount of time waiting to be seen.
