I was nervous about getting LASIK surgery so I shopped around with 5 different LASIK centers to get a better understanding of the procedure and to become more comfortable that I am being charged a fair price. MannEye Katy was above and beyond better than any of the other facilities that I visited. Every person that I met was extremely friendly, greeted me by name and with a smile. Ashley Hassen did a wonderful job dealing with my million questions and concerns and she definitely helped me feel completely comfortable about the procedure from the very first day.The day of the surgery was a breeze. This staff is very experienced and organized it was amazing how seamlessly the entire appointment went. Tina Doring was wonderful during the procedure and I really appreciated her providing a play by play to keep me aware of what is about to happen next. Dr. Wright was very nice and came to meet me shortly before surgery. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet him earlier or get to spend enough time to ask him any questions or test his knowledge, but with the experience that I had with the rest of the staff, it was not a concern for me at all that I didn't get to really meet him prior to surgery. The actual surgery couldn't have lasted more then 1 minute, as Ashley promised. I didn't feel ANY pain at any point before, during, or after the procedure. The only discomfort that I had was during the surgery when they had to use a suction-type device to hold my eyes open, I felt slight pressure as if I rubbed my eyes hard with my eyelids closed. Post surgery, there were times when I feel a slight irritation in my eyes, as if there is an eye lash stuck in my eye, this can be quickly solved by using moisturizing drops a few times a day. The medicines were very basic -- an antibiotic eye drop and a steroid eye drop, both of which I had to use for 5 days post surgery. They recommended that I continue using moisturizing drops for up to 30 days, but I probably will continue to use them regularly for a few months, and after that only as needed. The only complaint that I have, as I have seen on some of the other comments on this page is that the plastic eye shields that are to be worn overnight for the first 5 nights post surgery were a bit of a pain to deal with because I was told to tape them to my face as the doctor did immediately after surgery. This just does not make sense, as tape is uncomfortable. Also the tape didn't stick well as my skin was oily as I was naturally hesitant to wash my face around my eyes for the first few days. My fix was to use an elastic strap from some chemical goggles I had laying around and to use a piece of soft gift wrapping ribbon to hold the two pieces of the shield together over the bridge of my nose. This allowed me to slide the shields on and off my face like swimming goggles and worked great for the 5 days that I was told to wear it. I continued to wear it for at least another week after as there were times that I found myself waking up rubbing my eyes.In short, this staff is phenomenal and I look forward to working with them in the future. Surgery was a breeze and really didn't require any major changes in my day to day life. My vision is 20/15 or better now and I'm excited about that!

i went in for a "free consultation" to determine if i was a candidate for Lasik and what a complete disappointment. i thought i had chosen a group of professional doctors with a great reputation... not so much, the exam was performed and a trial pair of contacts were given to "try out" how the modified vision would be, as i am nearsighted and over 40 so i have distance and up close vision issues. i was told someone would contact me in a few days to see how i liked the modified vision and we would proceed from there. well that was over a week and a half ago an no contact from the clinic. i called the clinic to find out what is going on and was met with a very defensive staff, after being put on hold several times i then learned my insurance had been billed for an eye exam, which explains the co-pay i was asked to pay (and was told it was "customary") well now I am out of my annal eye exam and still no contacts i was told they would have to check with the Dr. to see if she was going to release contacts for me (funny i have been wearing contacts for over 30 years). I have just booked an appointment with my eye doctor whom i trust with my sight (which i will now have to pay for out of pocket as Mann Eye has billed my insurance for a "free Consultation")and who does not resort to "shady" business practices to lure customers in the door with offers of free consultations only to bill their insurance for an exam. When i spoke to the person in charge of customer service i was told it was my fault because i paid the co pay!! i did inquire what the charge was for and was told "customary" not that i was being charged for a full eye exam. I have contested the charge with my insurance company and will file a complaint with the BBB as well as any other professional organizations or regulatory agencies, and rest assured i will share this experience with everyone i know and caution them to Stay Away from Mann Eye.

Very Disappointed
