Very bad service, dingy place with old equipment and you cant even get a definitive price from them. Go elsewhere and dont waste your time and money here!

Dr. Chan is an outstanding physician specializing in ophthalmology (I am very picky because I am a physician - internal medicine and oncology). I have had bilateral cataract lens replacements with some recent visual changes and she was able to correct things for me - particularly for reading and for distance/driving. Her eye examination (including gonioscopy with full dilation), and the corneal mapping procedures are very thorough and state of the art. She has very professional and well trained staff and the office is well managed.

Tried to get a firm price on the surgery for both eyes, they run you around from one person to the next, with hidden costs revealed, they give you a vinyl $10 bag from China with five dollar sunglasses, the place is a scam everything is extra, I left not interested in the scam. I went to Austin Eye with Dr. Wong he did both eyes for me one at a time of course ,its a big beautiful place they own and control their own surgical area, on the second floor everything is spotless in a very modern building with modern equipment. Lake Austin Eye has dated equipment and I believe they leased the space for the surgery because its at another location . I dont believe they own the surgical place. Why would anybody go to Lake Austin Eye when you could go to the pros at Austin Eye. Lake Austin Eye billed my credit card over $260 for a bag of junk from China were all of $15. Im contesting the charge as Im leaving this review. Again before you make a decision , its so important to protect your eyesight by doing your due diligence just go online and look at the facility at Austin Eye, comparing it to Lake Austin Eye. Do your homework before you get bamboozled like I did but its not over yet. Im retired, I have time to take them to court.

I went to Dr. Chen and she was good and took time to understand my issues. She was located a ways from my house but it was worth it to see Dr. Chen. However, dealing with the office manager at Lake Austin Eye is a nightmare. First time they charged me my copay which I had already paid to another doctor. Then they would not return my money until they were reimbursed from medicare. I finally had to send an email to the doctor to get my money returned. Then on another occassion they said Medicare rejected the claim which I know was not true because when you are on Medicare you can see on-line when a claim is rejected. I called the office multiple times to talk to the office manager and she does not return calls and when I did get through to her she hung up on me. I just want someone who tells me what the cost is going to be beforehand and then bills me correctly. Recently when I called to refill my eyedrop prescription, they said I had to see the doctor before they would refill the prescription. I had seen the doctor less than a year ago. Then I went to the pharmacy and Lake Austin Eye had called in a refill for the the prescription they had told me they would not refill. Very frustrating. I have now found another eye doctor and am very happy.
