I had a small piece of iron shaving fall into my eye while doing some housework. After several days and many rinsings it would not come out, so I decided to seek out an eye doctor. As a recently graduated student I was in that no-man's land of failing to have insurance, so I had to pay in cash. I explained that to the receptionist when I arrived but she seemed to still put me through the typical process, asking me to fill out a form with my insurance information. I wanted to know what it would cost, but they wouldn't really give me any info on the prices, as I recall it depended on the treatment.I waited about an hour which isn't unreasonable for not having an appointment. The doctor saw me finally and in about 30 seconds immediately knew what to do. He called in an assistant and took a drill like tool to my eye, and we were done a few minutes later. Very little pain, and the irritation seemed to be fading. I think maybe I was in treatment for 10 minutes. On checkout I was informed that it would be $350. That seemed like a lot for 10 minutes, but I wasn't really in any place to argue. I thanked them for the help and left. About a month later I got a bill for $350. I thought it was simply an error so I called and explained that I had already paid. Apparently I hadn't paid enough, even though I had been told that the bill was settled when I left. At this point I was decided that I would never return. $700 is insane. I probably could have had a friend fish it out with a pair of tweezers. In my experience many places offer discounts to patients who are paying in cash. They didn't seem to care about me or my condition or my finances or the fact that they had already said I was paid in full. I'm not sure this is a common practice, but I would recommend you steer clear.

I had two cataract surgeries there, they are rude, impersonal, you see many elderly and sick people just being herded like cattle from room to room, and no one speaks to you. Dr. Weaver does not have the time to talk to you, and you see him for about 3 minutes each visit. I would not recommend them to anyone.
