I just called to get information on a procedure and to make a consultation appointment. I talked to Lindsey and she was so helpful and polite. She answered my questions without rushing me and set up my appointment and is getting the referral from my pcp. She was very pleasant and professional. I will write another review after my first appointment with Dr. Kahn as I am a new patient.

The receptionist and the nurse were very friendly and interacted well with my three-year-old grandson. Doctor Berman seemed to have very little time for us, implied that I was not helpful enough constraining my very distressed grandson during his exam and suggested that the boy's parents, rather than I, should come the next time. I guess the doctor didn't realize that when my grandson calls out for mama, he's calling for me. Had Dr Berman spent just a little more time with us, he might have learned that the mother has no legal custody and must get permission from the father to have any involvement medically with my grandson.

Just had Strabismus surgery with Dr. Berman. Great job, great staff.

For more than 10 years we have had a very positive experience with Maine Eye Center. Today we were not pleased. My spouse came home after an appointment and explained that there was an extra $50 fee when he checked out that was totally unexpected. Our insurance should cover most everything here. They gave him a new RX even though the Dr said his eyes had not changed and this would likely not be necessary. Especially considering that he just got new lenses and frames at great expense last year. Neither the Dr nor the assistant informed him that giving him this RX that he will not be using costs an extra $50. This is wrong. And of course when I tried to call the offices were already closed. This is wrong on so many levels. I have a different DR who has been at Maine Eye Center for a much longer time (this Dr is new) who would never do anything that costs extra without telling me first. Unacceptable. Stay tuned. If not for this I would give MEC 5 stars!
