    Ive taken my triplets born at 25 weeks with ROP to many doctors including Bascom Palmer in Miami. My daughter and I made seven trips to Miami and, unfortunately my daughter still did not have good results.So, when I too my son to Dr. Downer I was highly skeptical he could help him. He detailed what a super risky surgery it was , but felt very confident he could help. I trusted him and I believed him. He delivered! My son has never really seen. No other doctor was willing to try. I asked myself if a Jacksonville surgeon could help. He did! Hes incredible. Hes changed my sons life and Im so happy because a mother hurts when her child hurts. Hes reading signs as we drive down roads, seeing spots on walls, and scrubbed the bathroom! I asked him if he cleaned the bathroom and he said it was filthy! Now Im truly shocked! . I guess now Ill be handing over the car keys! Hes always been told by his retinal specialist that hell never drive. Dr. Downer gave us hope and a new life. Thank you Dr. Downer!

    Dr Pecoraro has done 2 eye surgeries, years apart, and I have been told by many doctors that he did a great job. The last time, I drove over 4 hours for him to perform my surgery - this year (2023). I don't think I'd trust anyone else to perform cataract or laser surgery.
