My surgery was very long and complex. The team at Spine Team Texas was amazing! I am now in physical therapy. This is my 4th round I've had since my beginning of my chronic back issues. The physical therapy here has been a great experience! Jennifer is the BEST! Thank you all for helping me get my life back!

Denied care/consultationBottom line: if you've had a prior back injury, no matter how insignificant or unrelated, you might want skip this provider and move on to another, the Spine Team may not want to help treat you.I would give the Spine Team a zero, mainly because I couldn't get past the patient coordinators to get an appointment. After recently injuring my back within the past three weeks (I'm still uncertain how this occurred), an MRI revealed that I have two bulging disks. So my doctor suggested Spine Team. Recieved a call from Cici at spine team requesting info in order to setup my consultation. One of the first questions out of her mouth was "Have you ever filed a workers comp claim on your back?" Being honest, I informed her that 25 years ago I had pulled a lower back muscle at work in which they required me to file a claim. Immediately, after consulting their in house workers' comp "expert"...Deidre, I was informed that the spine team would not be able to see me because I had previously filed a claim on my back. Nevermind the fact that it occurred >25years ago and is not even the same type of issue (pulled muscle vs. bulging disk). Really??? What am I supposed to do...drive back half way across the country to see a doctor for an issue that isn't even related to my current condition (that's an over-exaggeration but you get the point). So much for thinking of the patient first. I'm guessing they only lean toward those issues where the the patient has NEVER had a comp claim. So I assume the Spine Team will only accept patients if:1). This is a first-time back injury.2). You have never filed a comp claim on your back.Just think if every practice performed/behaved in this manner, a large percentage of us would be given the run around, care be delayed or flat out denied just because a claim was filed...regardless if related to a current diagnosis or not.I guess my greatest disappointment is how fast Spine Team was to brush me off due to a Spine Team policy. Especially over a muscle pull (which occurs to millions of people) that happened over 25 years ago, which in no way is the cause or related to my current condition, for which Spine Team is refusing to see me just because I filed a claim all those years ago.OBTW, since my muscle pull 25yrs ago, I've had 2 children, worked several jobs... all without further back issues until 3 weeks ago....It's probably best that I see another provider anyway....I'm more likely to find a provider that will care more for their patients and actually listen to their issues (and background), rather than worrying about litigation. I wonder if that might be a sign of their competency?

Great service all around. Explained all the options and made sure I chose the best option for treatment based off actual facts and medical advice. He then listened to what I had to say and we proceeded with treatment based of actual knowledge of the options.
