The doctor's here are good but be prepared to wait even if you have an appointment. I have been waiting for over an hour after my appointment time just to see the doctor.

Office tends to be busy. I had eye surgery there earlier this year in the Knoxville office with their facility fee and their own bill it was about 10 times more than I had been quoted by a smaller Dr office. I usually go to the Maryville office and called to get an appointment to have an eye infection looked at and was told earliest available is a week from tomorrow. Needless to say I am going elsewhere.

My wife and I had yearly exams scheduled for today (10/25/17) which we made last year after our appointment in 10/16. My wife also had a referral for floaters in her eye earlier this year. Well today they said her referral had expired and we needed a new one. We explained our appointments today were under our Medicare insurance and not medical. The receptionists said that would be fine and a referral wasn't needed. I went in for my exam and over 2 hours later I was finally done and was told that they weren't able to see my wife since SuperiorVision insurance said she wasn't a member. I tried to explain to them that they saw her last year under the same medicare insurance plan but the receptionist was rather rude and wouldn't listen but instead kept insisting they had contacted the insurance company and were told she wasn't a member. We went home and called Superior and they confirmed she was covered by their plan and there shouldn't have been a problem. I personally don't believe that Superior was contacted as the receptionist said since the people I talked to there said they had no record of any contacts for my wife today from anyone. We will not ever go back to this place again and can not recommend them to anyone else. It is an eye exam factory with no care for patients but only their insurance money.UPDATE: Dr Campbell staff contacted our doctor WITHOUT our permission and asked for a referral so they could get my wife back in. They then got our insurance company to authorize 6 visits, again without checking with us. We have since reported this to our insurance company via a complaint and also notified our doctor who withdrew his referral request. Hopefully some action will be taken by the insurance company against this practice.
