Dr. Brenner is gifted and thorough, and his remarkable diagnosis and subsequent surgeries to remove cataracts, several years ago, literally gave me back my vision and my confidence. In the years that have followed, he continues to provide wonderful care of my eyesight.

It was my first experience with Boston Vision since having lasik surgery over 20 years ago in Philadelphia. I needed a new lens as my old one was no longer doing its job. Excellent experience

I had a fantastic experience at Boston Vision! I had PRK done in my left eye and LASIK done in my right and start to finish it was a pretty seamless process. I was definitely nervous beforehand, but mostly excited - I did accept the valium they offered to calm me down a bit, which was immensely helpful. When I walked into the OR and laid down on the operating table, I was greeted warmly by the surgeons and assistants in the room. Music was playing which was really nice - gave me something to focus on!We started by putting numbing eye drops in both eyes. The LASIK eye was first - after my eyes were sufficiently numb they placed an eyelid holder in to make sure my eyes stayed wide open. It was a bit of a weird feeling but not uncomfortable or painful at all. The flap was created, which felt like a bit of pressure being applied to the surface of my eye (almost as if you pressed your palm to your eye while your eye was closed). My vision went in and out for a few seconds, and there was a lot of light. Then we moved over, Dr. Brenner pushed back the flap, and the laser reshaped my eye - it only took a couple seconds and the lights were honestly kinda cool! One thing I wasnt prepared for was the smell. It smelt like burnt hair! Definitely not my favourite but it only lasted for a few seconds. Then the flap was smoothed over and he applied some liquid to that eye and then covered it with gauze while we went to the other eye. All done! The PRK eye was a very similar procedure, sans the initial laser creating the flap. It felt like I was underwater for a bit as there was a lot of water flushing out my eye. For a few seconds I couldnt see anything besides a cloudy white, and then the laser did its work. Having the music and the coloured lights to look at made everything go so smoothly. Think of it as a quick, fun lightshow before being able to see clearly!Recovery has gone well so far. My LASIK eye is feeling great and crystal clear. My PRK eye was definitely pretty irritated for the first few days, but I did a loading dose of the keterolac they give you on Saturday morning which carried me through the day. I slept a lot over the weekend which I think helped significantly. Now three days later both my eyes feel great! My PRK eye is still a little blurry but thats normal during the recovery process. Overall it was so much easier and less uncomfortable than I thought it would be, and everyone on the team was so professional and caring! Thanks Boston Vision for changing my life for the better!!!
