My rating for Dr. Xia is based upon my initial consultation with her recently.Meeting with Doctor Xia Was such a comforting and informative visit. She spent time with me. She explained what she saw in the retinal pictures. She explained what she would advise me to do and the reasons for taking this action.She also explained what the next step or two would be depending upon the results from the initial drops being prescribed for me.Communication is such an important element to have to instill confidence in your doctor. And while her office was busy, she never gave the impression of running out the door to go onto the next patient.I had been consulting for over a year with another retinal specialist, but did not feel comfortable with the information being provided by him. There was never explanation or update on progress unless I pinned him down for an update. And even then, the information was one or two words, and he was out the door to the next patientFurthermore, her outlined treatment differed from his based on the retinal scar tissue she pointed out which he had not mentioned in all my visits at 2-3 monthly intervals over about 18 months.

Dr Xia is an extremely knowledgeable and caring professional who takes time to truly listen, inform and partner with her patients to provide a specific care plan. I see her every 6 months and highly recommend her!
