    I had an exceptional experience from start to finish. The check-in process was quick and seamless, with the front desk handling the basic medical forms efficiently. Julie did an outstanding job of thoroughly explaining each machine and the steps involved in my eye exam, making me feel comfortable and well-informed. She even took the extra time to assess my current glasses, which werent from Mann, and provided valuable insights from her lab. Dr. Turk then reviewed the findings, listened attentively to my needs, and made thoughtful adjustments based on my work environment, where I spend hours looking at small text on a computer. Finally, I had a wonderful experience in the eyewear center with Yanet. She offered fantastic frame suggestions that suited my face shape and took the time to explain all the frame and lens options in great detail. I would be truly disappointed if this location ever moved, as the service and care I received were exceptional.

    In approximately the spring of 2005 I was hospitalized after a compressed air explosion at a construction site where I worked as a pipe fitter. After being rendered unconscious from the force of the blast I, I woke up in a hospital with my hands bound to the bed rails with medical tape. Two things were immediately apparent. The first was the incredible pain. Second, and even more significant than the pain, I couldnt see. The doctors told me later that I had hundreds of tiny metal fragments in both eyes that had to be surgically removed. I spent roughly 45 days in the hospital recovering from the initial two surgeries, one on each eye. My left eye was deemed medically unresponsive, and my right showed some chance to improve. I was released from the hospital for no less than 2 weeks when I was out and about with a friend and collapsed in extreme pain in forehead, eyes, and face. I had developed an infection in both eyes. There would be no healing or recovery of my vision. Doctors informed me that I would likely lose my vision in both eyes over the next five years. I have seen many visions specialist since the accident, and theyve all essentially said the same things. Medical technology simply does not exist to correct his problem. My vision continued to decline significantly until 2024. Then I met Doctor Jessie Ustick at the Katy Mann Eye Institute in Katy Texas. She suggested a set of Sclera lenses. I never thought I would be able to see again, but at long last my vision has been restored. Dr. Ustick made me feel like I was part of a family. She answered every question and listened to every concern. She and her staff, Vivian and Katie, even prayed over me. Everyone I met, including but limited to, Wendy, Stephanie, Katie, Vivian, Rebecca, and Dr. Ustick are consistently wonderful and amazing. Now I have a drivers license, and I enrolled at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and Texas Baptist college, where I am studying to become an ordained minister through and SBC member church. I am once again alive. In all things God be praised!
