I've been holding off having cataract surgery mainly because with only two eyes, there just isn't any room for error. To be perfectly honest, I've always considered Mann Eye Institute more like the "MacDonald's" of eye care, and I never really considered them as a serious player, especially for critical procedures such as Lasik and Cataract surgery. However, after spending months and months researching on who's the best in the Houston area, Mann Eye Institute was clearly (no pun intended) out in front. Without boring you with too many details, I don't believe I could have made a better choice. From the beginning of my journey until now, Mann Eye Institute has knocked it out of the ballpark! Staff at the Houston (Fannin St) Office were not only highly trained and professional, but they were also very, very kind and sensitive. While I was offered more expensive lens, I chose the ones Medicare would pay for. I was expecting a "hard sell" to purchase the more expensive lens', but that never happened. Once I was told about the various lens options, the cost and benefits, and I had made my decision for the "basic" lens, that was it.......no pressure or up-sale tactics. The before and after care has been excellent, and the written instructions are easy to follow. Bottom Line: It's been three weeks since surgery on my left eye, and I'm so glad that I decided to use Mann Eye Institute for my cataract surgery. At 82, and even with the "basic" lens in both eyes, my vision is 20/20 for both near and distant. Amazing!!! How can I expect to do any better than that??!!??

They spent a lot of time w me .. was going to hold off on doing the surgery and wanted to try contacts for a while they charged me a fee without disclosing there would be a fee. They cannot fix my vision w lasik but did not tell me that.
