Due to a diagnosis of Fuchs Dystrophy in the past 1.5 years I have had cataract surgery and partial cornea replacements (DSEK procedures) on both of my eyes. The 4 surgeries were all performed by Dr. Zacks. He is so caring and patient. He will answer every question you ask him and never make you feel rushed. The staff from the front desk, the operating room, and the exam room nurses/medical assistants are all very friendly and caring. Even the billing dept. is great! Family recommended checking out Boston for the DSEK surgeries however I had heard Dr. Zacks was one of the top cornea specialists in the country. My nearly perfect vision can attest to that statement. There is sometimes a delay in your appointment time as with many medical offices. Once you are treated with such care and patience you understand why it is worth the wait.

Oh my, I cant say enough for them at Maine Eye Center from walking in the front door to walking back out. I was a nervous wreck to have to procedures done on my eyes and the staff was totally, amazing, very tapped in to my stress. Dr. Zacks took care of my surgeries and he was just...the best! I have had friends have the same thing done I have had but...with issues in the end. I guess that can happen to anyone but every other patient I chatted with the day of the surgeries and the follow up said the same thing, they are terrific here! and that is the simple truth! I like a recommendation when approaching a new Dr. for whatever reason, I want to and need to know they have the bedside manner that I need...calming!! This is the place. Good luck!

The staff were friendly, even jovial. Nice open clean office. I went for an eye exam and aside from the occasional expected delay, i was in and out pretty quickly. I was seen by Sr Thees who has a warm and gentle manner. He was confident and explained what he was doing and why and made the exam relevant as opposed to merely something done. brbrHighly recommended.
