Dr. Downer performed my bilateral cataract surgery. I feel so fortunate to have had the surgery performed by a surgeon with his level of skill. The experience and the results were excellent! Also- every Clay Eye staff person I encountered was extremely competent and kind.

Dr. Downer performed bilateral cataract surgery with lens implant on me. The procedure went very well. He explained everything he did and prior to the surgery he discussed with me at length what I wanted my enhanced vision results to be. We discussed my job requirements, hobbies etc. and I couldnt be happier with my vision!

Cant speak highly enough about Dr Downer. He completed surgery on both of my eyes and I can see so much better. Colors are bright and vivid. Glad I went to him.

I first met Dr. Downer at the Kingsley Ave. Clay Eye Center for dry eyes. He put plugs in my eyes, that seem to helped me. My cataracts grew quickly, my vision was impaired. Dr. Downer discussed my options. I chose to pay for Laser to remove cataracts with implants to keep me from wearing glasses, ever again. Im three months out from surgery, with the need for reading glasses with 2.75 for small print. Dr. Downer was serious during surgery on my eyes. Its routine at the Fleming Island surgery center, all the nurses are ready to assist the doctor during the procedure. He is trusted and excellent in his ability to perform the correction in eye sight! I highly recommend Dr. Downer in his specialties at Clay Eye Care. Sincerely, K. Creamer

Dr. Downer recently performed my Monovision (implanting 2 lenses). Eye for close-up is incredible! Havent been able to read for along time. The distance is not as crisp as had hoped. Probably will need a slight rx correction for driving. The experience was easy and totally pain-free. Staff at Clay Eye, the Fleming Island Surgery Center Dr Downer, were great, even in their extremely busy times. Only suggestion would be to add another Scheduler for Dr Downer, as the current one appears over-worked stressed. And that, coms across to the patients. All-in-all, very pleased to be able to see again!!
