I knew that I wanted to get the LASIK procedure, but I was a little anxious about the procedure and the days after. Dr. Melki and the LASIK team were incredibly helpful - they sent me videos explaining everything, answered any question at my consultation, and double and triple-checked my vision to make sure I was getting exactly what I needed. I was feeling a lot of anxiety the day of LASIK, and everyone I talked to at Boston Vision was kind and understanding.The procedure itself was not the scary or painful experience that I initially thought it might be. It was a strange feeling looking into the laser and feeling pressure, but it was over quickly. After the procedure, I felt incredibly supported by the team, and my recovery was smooth - I did lose my medication eye drops, but Dr. Melki and the Boston Vision employees quickly responded and helped me figure out what I should do. I have been really impressed with how well I can now see into the distance; obviously that is why I signed up for LASIK, but actually adjusting to having the vision I achieve every day with my contacts or glasses has been exciting.

First off, I love my new eyes. Not needing to think about glasses or contacts as a morning/bedtime ritual is incredibly convenient and allows me to do activities that would have previously dried out my eyes while wearing contacts. The entire process was seamless, from consultation to surgery to recovery. I'm currently about 9 days out from the surgery, and my post-op symptoms are already clearing up. My biggest concern was dry eye lasting months, but I'm basically back to 100%. 10/10 experience.

Everything from the initial consultation to the follow-up procedure was efficient and effective. Every member of the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The entire process took about 2-3 weeks (from initial consult through surgery). Every question I had was answered with a smile and sufficient information. Even the surgery day itself went forward with a single delay or issue. Every step of the way there is a friendly face offering assistance to make sure you are comfortable with the process and know what to expect. The surgery itself is about 25 minutes, and most of those minutes are in prep. There are about 5 minutes of mild discomfort during the procedure. I would not describe it in any other way-Its discomfort, a slight discomfort at that. The next morning I was able to drive without glasses for the first time in about 20 years. It is truly a life altering procedure. I cant recommend the procedure and the practice enough. I look forward to recapping my story to anyone who asks (and I assume that will be everyone I see for the next few months since no one has seen me without glasses in decades) Thanks for everyone involved!
