My experience at Boston vision could not have gone any better. I've been a contact lens wearer for about 15 years but recently, my eyes began rejecting them. My occupation at a firefighter requires great vision at all times of day/night and glasses were not a permanent option so I investigated Lasik.I've heard stories of slight issues with Lasik but everyone I've spoken with about it has said it was the best move they've ever made. Boston Vision came highly recommended so we applied for a consult. The office visit took about two hours total after they checked my eyes a few different ways and re-tested after dilation. It showed that I was a good candidate and the scheduler ran us through all the pertinent information regarding the procedure (location, time, and price). We scheduled a week from the consult for the Brookline office. My appoint was for 7AM on a friday and after a brief check of my prescription, I was lying down for surgery at 7:45AM The medical staff was absolutely fantastic and had a very calming demeanor for before, during and after. They played some great music during and carried on conversations as of they were just talking in the hallway. I can't stress how calming that is while you are awake in a surgical procedure and end up losing vision momentarily. There were moments of slight pressure and at points you can smell the burning smell from the laser but there was no pain whatsoever. The best part was that I was done at 7:57AM, for those counting that's 12 minutes in and out. I was then brought across the hall, with vision slightly blurry but not painful, and checked by the performing surgeon. Everything looked great and I was sent off with my sweet sunglasses, rec specs for sleeping, and a bottle of drops for recovery. The most amazing thing about this.procedure is that while you are awake, you barely feel a thing. The blade creating the flaps is equivalent to a contact lens moving over the eye. Also, I'm writing this shortly after waking up from the prescribed 4 hour nap and feel 0 pain. I'm kicking myself for not having done this procedure years ago but I believe that this is the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thank you to Dr. Brenner and the team at Boston Vision Brookline!"

Dr. Melki and everyone at Boston Vision are the best. I just had surgery 4 days ago and everything has been a breeze. They went over post-op instructions multiple times, both via email, verbally in person (multiple times on the morning of surgery) and then with a printout to take home with me. You're there for 2 hours and the majority of the time is waiting for the Xanax to kick in. You're in and out of the procedure room in about 12-15 minutes. I would DEFINITELY recommend taking the Xanax/anti-anxiety medication offered! I would not want to experience LASIK without an anti-anxiety medication. It was entirely as expected and as explained by Dr. Melki. I felt nothing but moderate pressure in my eye. I followed Dr. Melki's basic instruction on where to look and the whole thing was done before I knew it. They sent me on my way with a little black pouch filled with my post-op care instructions, eye drops, sunglasses (for comfort as some experience light sensitivity), and an eye shield for sleeping. The real kicker for me was that Dr. Melki gives you a business card with his cell phone number and tells you to reach out to him if you are at all concerned during your recovery. He said, "This is genuine. I would rather you reach out to me and have it be nothing, than not reach out to me and have it be something that needs attention." I felt so at ease after meeting Dr. Melki and hearing these words. They do such a great job making sure that you have all the information you need to make your experience successful and minimally stressful. At my 1 day post-op check up with my own eye doc, I was already seeing 20/20 with an expectation that my vision would continue to improve as my eyes healed in the coming days. What a success!! Thank you, Dr. Melki and everyone at Boston Vision!

My experience with lasik was very smooth and easy. The consultation and preparation videos prepare you for what will happen during the appointment. I went in that morning a bit nervous but the entire procedure was quick and easy. The procedure was uncomfortable but not painful. My recovery was so easy - I went home and took a nap as instructed, and woke up feeling good as new with great vision!
