The team at Boston Vision in Brookline, MA, was professional from the moment I walked in the door. The free consultation was thorough, and I was given time to speak with the doctor about LASIK in detail and ask numerous questions; I never felt rushed. As a surgeon myself, I was terrified of anything going wrong with my eye surgery - my eyes are my livelihood! I left the consultation feeling informed, comfortable and ready to schedule the surgery. The procedure itself seems like it's over before it starts. The eye pressure from the machine is uncomfortable, but it only lasts about 30 seconds. For the ride home from the procedure, my eyes were very teary and stinging, but after a 4-hour nap, all of the discomfort was gone. The eye drop routine is super manageable, and I couldn't believe how well I was seeing the night following the surgery. I'm 6 days postoperative, and my eyes feel completely back to normal. I have to keep reminding myself that I don't have to take my contacts out at the end of the day. 10/10 would recommend Boston Vision for LASIK.

I was pleased with the pre-op staff. They were professional and informative, while being considerate of my anxiety around having LASIK. Medical staff appeared competent and comfortable in their work environment. There was a duration of time between my arrival at the office and my procedure, although I was previously informed to expect to be at the office for several hours on procedure day and did not feel as if I was waiting too long. The procedure was uncomfortable, but not painful. I am not a proponent of prescription medication, but very thankful to be offered xanax in these circumstances to remain calm during the procedure and to rest during the mild discomfort to follow. I am happy with my decision to travel a couple hours from home to have LASIK performed at Boston Vision Brookline by Dr. Melki.
