Dr. Ellenberg refused to see me for an eye condition deemed an emergency by my optometrist because my private insurance required some additional administrative processing. I'd recommend the Kellog Eye Center (U of M - Ann Arbor) for more responsive, flexible service, especially if you're a younger patient (i.e., not Medicare eligible).This issue notwithstanding, the office staff were professional and courteous when I visited.

Extremely rushed. This is my third visit and it will be my last. Barely have enough time to ask any questions, and the responses are rushed as well.

So first the good if you're coming here for a procedure then it's alright. The doctors are knowledgeable and adequate at their jobs.However, the receptionist/scheduling team is awful. Expect to wait at least 30-60min after your scheduled appointment time to be taken back. I've waited over two hours before on an appointment. They will also try and schedule for way more follow ups than needed after a procedure. Once they get their hands on your insurance they'll milk it for all it's worth. Just be cautious when scheduling appointments here and use your best judgment.

Upon arrival, my experience was ok, however when Dr. Kleinfeldt came to examine me, he was very dismissive and short. He was in the room with me probably less than 2 minutes. When he found out I wore contacts, he stated "he does not do contacts" as if I would have know this information. I didn't schedule my appointment with him, this is who I was placed with when I schedule my appointment.The assistant in the room was nice, however my checkout was not so pleasant either. I was in line waiting to get checkout on one end of the office. When someone came from the back and asked that I get check out on the other side of the office. I guess since the admin didn't have anyone at her window I was sent to her. Well, she wasn't pleased, she appeared to have an attitude with the person that sent me to the window, and or she was having a bad day all together. I was sent out without any protection over my eyes, as my eyes were dilated. I had to go to another window and ask for some protection for my eyes.

Very friendly staff, and very efficient. Doctor explained everything very well and very thorough, but I've gone there twice and all that has happened is just that explanation but no treat. Test and we will see what happens
