Their version of service is shameful. I had an 8:30 appointment and was not seen by the doctor until 9:20 after I asked if the Dr was in. They abandoned me for twenty minutes without any followup. They stash you in a room at 8:50 and do the prep with a technician, including writing the prescription, which the Dr. later verified. The front desk people never apologized for ignoring me. I should have known when I called to make the appointment between noon and 1 only to discover they close the office for lunch and TAKE NO CALLS. You have to call back at a time that suits them.Who do these front desk people think pays their salary?Avoid these people at any cost!!

I had an appointment with Dr. Steven Nielsen last week; it was my first time seeing him and being in his office. I had been referred here from my PCP for a specific condition that my mid-wife wanted checked out to make sure it wasn't anything serious. There was plenty of parking, the location was ideal (and right off of the highway) and the office was clean and welcoming. The office staff weren't anything exceptional and non-memorable, but friendly enough and helpful. I waited 20 minutes in the waiting room before my name was called. The man who took me in didn't give me his name or title, so I didn't know who he was (kinda confusing for a new patient) but he was friendly and nice and took down my history and questions I had for Dr. Nielsen. He put drops in my eyes and did some tests then told me to close my eyes and wait for the Dr. to come in. I waited for maybe 15 more minutes in a dark room and Dr. Nielsen burst into the room, looked at my eyes with a bright light, said that everything was "ok," handed me a form to give to the receptionist and then went to the door to leave. Upon which I jumped up, blinded from the drops and the bright light, and tried to ask him some questions that were important to me. He barely gave me 4 minutes (from start to finish) and seemed to not care about answering my questions -- but wanted me to schedule a follow-up in 6 months. I'm disappointed in the amount of time that was spent with me AND the fact that no one told me the effects the eye drops would have on my vision. On the way out, I had to ask the man who initially took me into the room, for answers as to why I could see far away, but not up-close. You would think that they would tell you the side-effects of the medication they are using on you. Overall, I was disappointed and am thinking of finding a new Ophthalmologist and canceling my f/u appointment.

Not impressed. I had cataract replacement implants. I never saw the same optometrist over many visits. The optometrist hears your issues and then says "tell Dr Nielsen". When Nielsen evetually appears he is obviously in a great hurry, clearly anxious to rush on to his next patient and quite uninterested in what you have to say. I ended up with double vision in my right eye, much worse than before the procedure. Nielsen several times tried to convince me I had 20/20 vision which was laughable and told me my vision was better than before the operation which was a lie. Impossible to get my original eye test, they are obviously scared about litigation. He stated that the double vision was caused by residual astigmatism left as a result of his surgery and could not be treated. Another untruth as I subsequently found out. A simple procedure will remove it.Nielsen Eye Center seems to be a production line process to maximise profit with little concern for the patient. Avoid if you can.
