    I went in for my first eye exam. Reception was very polite and friendly. The waiting room is beautiful and comfortable. Wait time was minimal. Maryann was very friendly, knowledgable and fun to work with. Dr. Beavers was also excellent. He explained to me exactly what was going on with my eyes. What might have been kind of scary turned out to be a lot of fun! I was worried that I had some kind of major problem (never go online with a list of symptoms, lol). In the end I just needed prescription glasses. There was no pressure to purchase glasses from Mann. Reception offered me prices and gave me my prescription, which I filled at Costco. She even gave me a free sunglass case to replace the embarrassing sock I was keeping mine in. I'm glad there is nothing seriously wrong with my eyes, but if there was, I wouldn't mind as much if I had to visit Mann Eye Institute. They made me feel welcome, listened to, cared for, and respected. They were kind and funny. I highly recommend this business, especially if you are apprehensive about doctors, or sensitive about your eyes. At age 40, this was my first time getting a proper vision evaluation. Had I known it would be so simple and fun, I probably wouldn't have waited so long.

    LASIK procedure yesterday 4/24/15 by Dr. Paul Mann. Everything was fantastic including the staff (Kristen, Rowland, Jara, Dr. Barker et al). True pros and super friendly/courteous throughout from initial call to follow-up which today I see slightly better than 20/15. Over the past 7-10 years I've spent more on glasses, rx sunglasses and related items than I did on this surgery. <br><br>Dr. Mann called last night to wish me well, which would be nice for him to have a staffer do, but the Mann called himself... very nice personal touch imo.<br><br>Overall, couldn't be happier, and would likely be willing to pay 2-3x based on quality of life improvement. Based on some* of the other reviews, I would recommend Mann Eye turn some people away and let them deal with inferior service providers. If you expect superior service and quality at average to slightly below average market rates, there is no other choice but Mann Eye.<br><br>Thanks y'all!!!<br>Jeremy

    I have needed glasses since second grade. The world was always blurry. But not anymore. I had LASIK yesterday at Mann-Eye and today I drove myself into my first post op visit. I was so nervous but the staff was incredible. Jara, Stephanie, and Roland were so nice. I have to give a special shout out to Kristen who held my hand the entire time. Dr. Mann was lovely and talked me through the entire procedure. He even called later that night to make sure I was ok. If your thinking about LASIK, you have to check out Mann Eye. They are the best!

    I had LASIK done at Mann Eye last Friday (March 13th) by Dr. Barker. Like many others who have posted, I researched 3 different spots in Austin and eventually settled on Mann Eye. I did this for a number of reasons including the facilities (top notch technology and clean office space), friendliness of the staff and ultimately the cost. I worked closely with Courtney and from the start literally ever person from her to the last person who said bye to me day of the surgery was extremely nice and comforting. <br><br>Dr. Barker was great and made me feel comfortable through out the whole process. He called me about 6 hours after the procedure to check in. I feel blessed that through almost all my recovery I never had any real discomfort to complain about. <br><br>It really is insane how quickly the procedure is done too. I was pretty nervous going into it but in hindsight (which is 20/20 like my new vision HA- ok sorry bad joke) there was nothing really to worry about it. As of this review it has only been a little over a week so I will try and write an update in a few months or even a year to tell everyone how I am doing. <br><br>I would recommend Mann Eye and the whole team to anyone considering LASIK in the Austin area but ultimately they are your eyes and you should do plenty of research and make sure you feel 100% comfortable with the location you chose. For me that ended up being Mann Eye. Also my wife who is a dentist in town had a patient who went to the original Mann Eye in Houston and 20 years later still had a good relationship with his doctor and raves about how great they were then and how they still carry their great customer service through as he gets ready for his refinement.
