I saw Dr. Hoang on 06/01/2018.To start, the staff was amazing on the phone when I initially called asking to schedule an appointment and that I would be a new patient. The first thing that was said was, "Welcome to the office!". I have never, in all my years of doctors appointments, been greeted with such. They were courtesy and accommodating both when I made the appointment and called back later that day to see if they had any earlier openings. On Friday during the AM, I received a phone call from an unrecognized number (I usually don't answer those) and decided to pick up. The doctor was calling from another location. He asked what my contact prescription and brand was to make sure he had something at the Elmhurst location that he could check the fitting with. Dr. Hoang then let me know they had a busy load that day, to eat before I came (in case I was waiting) and that he looked forward to my appointment.Upon arrival, the staff was just as friendly, welcoming and courteous. They were packed full of people but I only ended up waiting another 15 or so minutes which is expected at any doctors office. The tech who took care of me was explanatory and attentive to my needs. She explained the entire process, what she was doing, and offered any answers to the questions I had. The exam rooms were clean and inviting. The tech took care of all my glasses prescription needs and had me put in the trial contacts while I waited for the doctor.Dr. Hoang came in and was super professional but also extremely relatable. He was absolutely down to earth and amazing. He was attentive to my needs, explained everything in depth, checked my eyes, gave me a few trial contacts and thanked me profusely for coming to see him. I had to schedule another appointment for a test and I will definitely be coming back to see him in the future!

I developed a tear and small detachment in my retina. With the help of my optometrist, I was able to get in to see Dr. Saad Ahmed immediately and he repaired the detachment the same day by injecting a bubble of gas into my eye and had me come back the next day to repair the tears with a laser. I am grateful that he was able to make these repairs for me and save my sight.

The Kovach Eye Institute is a friendly, professional and supportive environment for those in need of eye care. The staff is proficient from start to finish of your visit and the waiting areas are comfortable. I have always been satisfied with the care and services I received.

I called Kovach Eye Institute on a Saturday just as they were preparing to close. They were so kind to me. I had never been a patient there before, but I was having a lot of pain in my eye and wanted to see a doctor as soon as possible. They got me right in, even staying open till I got there. I was lucky enough to see Dr. Ali. She gave me a thorough exam and diagnosed a potentially dangerous condition. A condition that two prominent ophthalmologists had previously misdiagnosed. Dr. Ali also explained that there was probably an auto immune process going on to cause my eye condition. This prompted me to see my doctor and have a battery of tests that did indeed reveal an auto immune disease. I am so indebted and grateful for Dr. Ali's caring, knowledgeable and exceptional care. Thank you to all the staff at Kovach Eye Institute for being so extremely kind.
