Dr. Roberts performed cataract surgery due to a car accident on both my eyes recently, and now I'm 20/20 distance for the first time in my life as a result. He is awesome, he's not board certified yet but he is on top of his game. I have complete confidence in his skills and his passion for his profession. I'm also very impressed by Christine, who runs the place when Dr. Roberts is in.

I've had nothing but great experiences here. As a dry eye patient, Dr. Charles Hoang has been the best! He listens to my concerns and I feel like he is there to help my dry eye condition-not to just write an Rx.I don't quite get the other reviews about the staff-my experiences with them have been nothing but great. Ordering contacts with them has never been a problem-the contacts are always there within a few days and if I run short (dailies wearer) I can come in and they'll give me a week's trial worth to tide me over, which I appreciate a lot.I will continue to come here-after seeing several ophthalmologists throughout the years for my dry eye condition, Taub Eye Clinic is by far the best place that I've been to!

I highly recommend Dr. Kovach. Not only is he a skilled surgeon but, he also cares about his patients. He has changed my life by giving me back my sight. Before I met Dr. Kovach I had been wearing glasses for 50 years and bi-focals for 20. Now I only need reading glasses which I can get at my local pharmacy. What a difference it has made in the quality of my life!!

My doc was out of town and I had a painful eye problem. Christine from Kovach's practice, where I wasn't even a patient, came to pick me up at home. took a look at my eye to determine there was no contact lens wedged in there. called a doctor who was in town, drove me there, waited and gave her opinion and then drove me to the pharmacy and dropped me back at home. I'm in her debt. I ended up having a corneal abrasion and got immediate care. She was smart, affable. met me at my front door with numbing eye drops and charged me nothing. She was an amazing angel and, although their doctor was out, the full staff there (Monica, etc) were incredibly accomadating and understanding. I'm changing practices to them. I cannot believe the care I received as a non-patient. It proves that the practice is more concerned about the patient than money. Absolutely blown away!

I've seen quite a few negative reviews on this site, and would like to share my experience at Taub Eye Clinic. I've been a patient of Dr. Robert Taub, and previously his daughter Susan, for over 20 years (I'm only 30, so that says a a lot). During graduate school in 2005 I suffered a corneal abrasion which quickly developed into a corneal ulcer. I visited the emergency room two days in a row and saw a local ophthalmologist who gave me eye drops and sent me home for 3 days. I was unsatisfied with this result and drove back to Chicago to get a second opinion from Dr. Taub. Dr. Taub looked at my eye and immediately called the hospital to have me admitted that very morning for a week of intravenous medication. It turned out that the drops I'd been given did absolutely nothing and as a result the infection had eaten through my cornea and into my retina! I would not have vision in my left eye if it were not for Dr. Taub's swift and expert diagnosis. He is responsible for salvaging my eyesight and I cannot tell you how much that means (especially after sitting in a hospital bed for a week unable to see anything due to the excruciating pain of even opening my eyes). In the years since, I've seen Dr. Charles a few times and while he can be a bit more friendly than most (I saw a few reviews where patients were made uncomfortable by this), I still believe he does a thorough job. As far as the support staff goes, Hector is always AMAZING and the front desk girls are usually pleasant enough. I am usually at the ophthalmologist for medical assistance, not to make friends (and they are far from rude!) I can understand the cost issue, but prices for glasses/contacts are different virtually everywhere you go. Finding the best price is part of being a savvy consumer. I truly believe that the strength of the Taub Eye Clinic is in it's ability to assess and diagnose the health of the eyes. If the contacts are too expensive, you can always pay the copay, request a copy of your prescription before you leave, and shop elsewhere for these. This establishment is in the business of providing quality eye care to its patients, and I cannot put a price tag on that!Go to Taub Eye Clinic, ask for Dr. Taub and then post your experience!
