Dr. Larsen is amazing! Extremely knowledgeable and down to earth guy. I was diagnosed with keratoconus in 2014 at the Florida Eye Institute. Over the next several years I would see both optometrist and ophthalmologist 1-2 times per year with Shannon Eye Clinic. Not one time did any of these Doctor's suggest Corneal cross-linking as an option. Never even heard of it until today. Dr. Larsen, Thank You!If it wasn't for Dr. Larsen. I would be giving Gulf Coast probably a 1 or 2 STAR. Your insurance billing department needs to learn how to listen and admit when they are wrong.I have been using Tricare for the last 26 years while serving. Insurance billing department has told me and Tricare Referral reps that we are wrong and they are right. Spent almost 3 hours trying to convince them last year that i did not require a referral to see an optometrist because I am tricare prime remote NOT tricare prime which they kept looking at. Tricare Prime require a referral to see a civillian Dr because Prime sponsors are located on military bases. Tricare Prime Remote members are remote and don't need a referral because we are Remote like an Army Recruiter. I had to deal with this crap again today and still got nothing resolved. I only need a referral to see an ophthalmologist. Can't believe these people have the audacity to tell a Tricare benefits supervisor that Tricare is wrong when Tricare told Gulf Coast I did not require one.Gulf Coast insurance team refused to call Tricare because they didn't want to be proven wrong again. I still don't have this resolved.Whomever is reading this, I truly hope your insurance billing team gets training on the different Active Duty Tricare requirements based off where they are stationed.
