I decided on Dr. Goel based on his experience, reputation, and personal recommendations of people I trust. I elected to have RELEX SMILE vision correction over nine months ago. The staff was friendly and helpful for the consultation and procedure. The procedure itself provided interesting sensations, and I felt very comfortable that Dr. Goel knew what he was doing. I could tell I had near perfect vision instantly, but it was really hazy for the first day, which was expected. I did have glare and starbursts around certain light sources both during the day and night for a few months. This gradually improved. By five months post-op, the glare and starbursts had subsided to what I was accustomed to pre-op, perhaps better. Dry eyes were a minor problem preservative-free drops remedied. The two criticisms I would offer I consider insignificant to affect my star rating, but I do want to mention them. First, I did not opt for monovision, but I essentially have it. My dominant eye is now 20/20. My other eye is slightly weaker for distance despite aiming for 20/20, but it's actually been a blessing as it is better for reading. Essentially, I don't need glasses for either distance or reading, so I consider this a lucky break. Therefore, I highly discourage electing for monovision, as you may end up with it anyway aiming for 20/20. The second criticism is that while I felt the post-op follow-ups were friendly and professional, I did not have them with Dr. Goel. The doctors and assistants who did see me seemed content to verify the prescription improvement, wanting to let me go home with flying colors, but I had concerns about the glare and starburst effects and had to explicitly bring the subject up for myself to elicit a conversation. I'll concede they were ultimately correct, but I would have welcomed more reassurance at the time. Still, I love getting the procedure for improved vision, I recommend RELEX SMILE over LASIK, and if you are near Maryland, I recommend getting it performed by Dr. Goel. Thank you Dr. Goel!

This was my first time visiting Goel Vision an they made me feel so welcome. The receptionist was so friendly, helpful and polite. Dr. Goel and his staff was very professional, friendly and welcoming. I would recommend him to my family and friends.
